So i just recently acquired a ps5 and its enroute to my place but im concerned that i might screw up the transfer for everything...

i buy my games online (no physical disks) like ff12, ff15, kh3, ff7r(main reason why i bought the ps5 for the dlc and future releases...) and a few others...

what is a fool proof way to transfer safely? i didnt touch any of the psn stuff other than to sign in and buy games.

Are you talking about transferring whole games, or just save files?
Do you have a large external storage drive?

I just used a USB stick to transfer the save files from ps4 to ps5, was very easy and quick and worked well. Then downloaded any games again from the store.
I don't have a large external USB drive so didn't store/transfer whole games that way.

If you have ps+ the save files will be in the cloud so no need to manually transfer them.

@syngreis I used an Ethernet cable to connect the consoles and it was seamless, and probably the quickest way of doing it.

You also don’t need to worry about deleting things off your PS4 first as the PS5 will ask you what you want to transfer over. It was even more straightforward than I was expecting.
