I was lucky enough to get a PS5 at launch and looking to pick up a few more games for it.

I've noticed that PS4 games with a free upgrade to PS5 seem to be alot cheaper than buying the actual PS5 version

A couple of examples, Fifa 21 for PS4 is currently £34.99 on Smyths website whereas as the PS5 version is £69.99. Sackboy is £49.99 for PS4 but £59.99 for PS5

Seems to good to be true unless i'm missing something whats the benifit in paying more for the same game?

Assuming you have a good Internet connection buying the PS4 version is a cheap way to get a license. That can then be used to download the PS5 version of the game. If you want to play the game that’s on the disk without connecting to the Internet do you need for PS5 version. @Marios-love-child

Thanks for the replies, seems a small sacrifice to make, especially with Fifa which is effectively half the price at the time of typing
