Topic: Preorder's Already Sold Out....

So, I got up at 6am today and went online intending to preorder my PS5, and found that every single place taking preorders was already sold out, and said to check back on release day. What the Hell.....

@Unlucky13 More will come available. There is no way they sold through their entire stock already.

@Octane I guess we'll see. I ended up having to wait six months after release to get my PS2 back in the day. I can't help but worry if this will be the same.

Honestly, all Sony and MS have done these last couple of months is make me very happy to own a decent PC. Demon’s Souls is the only game shown off I want that I can’t play anywhere else. And to be honest, it’s not a game worth £450.

@nessisonett I have no interest in Demon Souls, but there are now about ten different PS5 titles that I'm really excited to play. When the PS4 launched, there were zero, so I didn't mind waiting almost a year to get one, especially with it not being backwards compatible. But with all of the PS5 games that I want, plus the ability to continue to play PS4 titles, I'd really like to get one as soon as I can.

AC: Valhalla is number one on my list, and I don't want to have a lesser experience by playing it on the current system.

Sony handled this very badly. There's no questioned about it.

I am extremely grateful Amazon UK stuck to not starting until 9am this morning so I was still able to get one. I went to work the second the stream finished last night and only found out about pre-orders already live during my break. If Amazon had started early like others I'd probably have missed out on the initial batch too. It seems like some retailers started selling earlier than they should have but I think Sony definitely should have given more warning as they claimed they were going to.

I read the news about this happening in US and I got nervous it would happen here in Brazil as well, since we probably have a way more limited number of units to pre-order. So glad Amazon Brazil did not start selling it until ~10:00 BRT.

@BearsEatBeets I wasn't so lucky, I was trying at 9 but couldn't get one off Amazon.

I have missed out as well.

There might be more soon once Sony confirms numbers to stores?

@I_Like_It Probably. It's baffling how they're handling this. But I'm hopeful more stock will be available soon.

Well... think yourselves lucky you aren't in Sweden, a major retailer here thinks they might get 50 for the entire country. 50. For a country of 10m and install base that's in the millions. Sweden is a gaming mad society, hence all the AAA studios here, I hope it's a bad joke, but I'm not sure it is. I suppose GTX 3080 and a new Zen 3 CPU here I come!!! lol.

@SirAngry Jim Ryan probably choked on surströmming one day and said F Sweden, they're only getting 50 consoles.

@nessisonett I know right!!! PMSL. I have seen the email to the regional manager too. It's pretty panicked, in his area alone he has nearly 10k interested customers. So 50 for one of the largest consumer electronics retailers is seriously grim. They won't fulfil demand for years at this rate. I'm finding it mildly amusing I have to be honest.

@Octane well I'm sure they'll be plenty of angry Swedes willing to choke him with their bare hands soon enough. lol.

Just came from the local game store. I was number #246 to order the PS5 from them, and they said they'd expect my PS5 to arrive in January.

@nessisonett For me it's the other way around. All Sony and Nintendo did these last months was make me happy that I haven't invested in a PC. There's hardly anything coming to PC that has my interest and isn't coming to console as well. The other way around, though...

@Kidfried I play hours and hours of games like Total War, Europa Universalis, Rimworld and Tales of Maj’Eyal, none of which are on consoles yet. Disco Elysium and Hades are also a couple of my favourite games this gen and they aren’t on consoles yet, although Hades is launching today on Switch. There are many many reasons I play PC so consoles have to grab me with reasons to pick them up and so far, PS5 isn’t really doing that with me being able to play 90% of the games on PS4 and Game Pass PC gives me all the Xbox I need. I’ll probably wait until God of War.

In my country the pre-orders just kicked in. But I will not do it. I will wait.

I will wait for a tech reviews. I do not want to change my PS5 because it is noisy etc.
