Topic: Playing the same game online on both, my PS4 & my PS5, using the same PSN account

Hey everyone,

I need your help clarifying something now that I managed to finally buy a PS5 (it's on the way, can't wait).

So I live with my brother and we have a PS4 at home and an active PSN subscription. Since I can use the same PSN subscription on my soon-to-arrive PS5, I was wondering what sort of co-op games I can play with my brother through cross-gen play. For example, I have bought Monster Hunter: World years ago and I want to play it on with my brother, I'll use the PS5 and he'll use the PS4.

The question becomes, can my brother downstairs fire up the PS4 and play the same game with me from the my account? or do we have to have another PSN subscription and buy the game again from a different account just to play it together online?

Some clarifications and solutions would be great.

Thanks all and happy gaming

-Have your brother create his own account on the ps4

-activate the ps4 as your primary console

-any game that you have purchased that's downloaded on the ps4, he will be able to play too

-As long as you, the "main" account, have an active ps plus sub you can freely play coop games together no problem. My kids and I do this all the time without issue.

Hope it helps, congrats on getting one!
