Did games start to feel a bit more 'old school' in this state of play?
I feel like I was witnessing Sleeping Dogs, Infamous, Prototype. (John Wick and Control) Stuff of that ilk where devs would just make cool stuff they wanted to make because it's fun. Weird, but the whole show definitely had a cool, invigorated, old school vibe.
Even though I have no interest in Marathon it kind of felt half decent in production. It had something about it, at least.
There was that game that was quite a lot like Helldivers (4loop?) that made me kind of wish for some single player games with this same feel about them. If I was 15 i'd have been super hyped for something like this, so I hope teens these days start playing some actual games and get off mobile games and tick tock 😁 but if some single player games could match this kind of vibe, it'd be cool to see.
Weirdly, the game i'm most interested in is kind of the least appealing. I hope it's good. But 007 is kind of feeling a bit modern cookie cutter at the moment. That said, it should be a game that is easily carried by it's level design if that is done well, and usually they do excel at level design.
Kena 2 looks really nice. I really need to get around to playing the first. That is a long buried backlog game.
And the horror games had some serious vibes, even though I don't play them, they stand out, and I bet people are pretty excited to get stuck into those.
When it seems you're out of luck.

@Tjuz@Werehog News of year for me, everything else will just be a bonus. I still own a copy and my ps3 is still hooked up, but glad to finally have the big 4 on my PS5.
Snake Eater is really special, T. I hope you really enjoy it and share your experience too 😊

I believe the lower budget Mafia was a success. And with gaming budgets and development time ever increasing, one might wonder when this AA revival is finally going to happen. Maybe it started yesterday!
I'm looking forward to seeing the Sonic Frontiers 2 announcement, and am hoping we get a little more Lara, either via a new Legacy of Atlantis trailer (with a release window, if not date) or a surprise update for the remasters. It's her birthday this weekend, after all.
Also, it's been long enough now, so maybe Metal Gear Master Collection Vol. 2 will get confirmed...?
