After the initial crazy crashes and glitches I am now wondering if we can use the External HD with no issues. I am so scared of destroying my PS5 I never even used the Rest Mode lol
Anyway I plugged my HD back in december just to try and a bunch of game downloads popped up on PS5 downloads list. I assumed it was the physical copies that needed the cd to download some kind of data because every single download gave me an error. I was so scared that I ended up deleting the downloads and eventually it deleted those games from Hard Drive lol.
@AFCC I have not used rest mode and off my experience I wouldn't as the only time I did with my external running a game I ran into a Storage Rebuild problem when I booted it back up but many people have ran into no issues so maybe try it once and see.
The most cautious way to use rest mode would be going into rest mode after ejecting the HDD then plugging it back in once the console is woken up.
@AFCC Yes I am, never had a problem with it other than an external factor such as a power cut requiring a quick rebuild but the PS5 sorts that out itself.
One thing I don't do is leave games run and go into rest mode, always close the game first and then rest mode it, not really sure why, its just a habit!
I use an external nvme ssd no issues, I don't do rest mode tried it a few times worked good but once it practically locked up thought my console was bricked had to unplug the power cord to get it to do anything
