@themightyant - Yeah mate the Anomaly Arbitration mode is brutal, def high investment needed. I had little issue with the first part but the second really favours DoT and I need to rebuild Kafka and Swan so it won't be getting done, ever lol. I got Cerydra and her LC but was guaranteed on both counts, my character luck is in the toilet.
Almost every get has been on the back of a loss since last December. I did have a little bit of luck on Castorice's banner, got her from guarantee but got her E1 and Fugue then back to losing ways.
@Shigurui I built him quite a bit but missed out on his LC. He pretty much survives everything so much so I'm thinking of duo dps teams again like the early days.
@z0d15g0d Evernight & Castorice have been working well for me as dual DPS / sub-DPS team.
@Shigurui I chipped away a bit more at the story last night, but Christ is it awful. I skip some bits, but I have paid attention up to now so it seems a little silly to skip it all. Thankfully the recap bit when you try and skip usually alerts you to if it's important. It's likely an all time low for the writing. I probably should just quit again rather than investing more time when I'm not enjoying it, but I do want to see the resolution of Amphoreus, I don't like to leave things unfinished. But I will likely quit again after that.
@z0d15g0d - His LC is a bit of a bait imho, the extra atk and bit of healing is nice enough but atk isn't hard to get and his shield is ridiculous so not having sig is no big deal. I swap out Acheron or Clara LC depending on what I'm doing and both work well enough.
@themightyant - Yeah the story is woeful lol, the skip summary tells me all I need to know to get the gist. I don't mind missing out on 4 hours of cut scene nonsense.
I lost 50/50 on Evernight but the loss has me in a real head scratch. I can get E2 Castorice as I have E1 already, get Tribbie E1 or get Hyacine. I have the pulls sat there already waiting. Decisions, decisions!
@z0d15g0d - Really? No idea about Evernight but you never want to shield Castorice, she wants to take damage and get fast heals. 160 speed Gallagher or 200 speed Hyacine.
I finally caught up with the story, just before the latest update, and was hoping there would be some great pay off... While that may come it was pretty disappointing. They tired at this huge Avengers like moment with all the characters having a word alongside some stirring bombastic music... but it just fell flat imo. I was begging for it to end.
It's such a shame, I like the general HSR vibe, and overarching worldbuilding, I enjoy some of the gameplay and other bits, but there's so much to dislike recently. And while skip is useful, what's the point of playing an RPG if you skip the whole story? (Grumble grumble)

Castorice is pretty much a better version of Mydei who seems to have been relegated to oblivion. I can't even remember last time I had him in a team.
What site did you guys use to watch Dahlia's animations. Yt is filled with useless videos of streamers just talking about her kit and using none of her in game animation clips. So I thought I'd ask you guys instead.
@Shigurui Thanks dude. Just watched them. I thought Dahlia was replacing RM but she was on the same team for the MoC 12 run in the video. FF, Fugue, Dahlia and RM. The units were E1 or E2 though so I guess no healer required.
What character are you guys going to use the free crystal from the update on? I don't have the Topaz unit so was considering that but I also really want to get Clara to E6 (Currently on 4). Decisions decisions....
@z0d15g0d I haven't been following what was going on with the game and so I was quite surprised to login and find 10 free pulls (with another 10 to come) and a free 5 star. I was split between E1 Ruan Mei and Topaz, but went with the later as I didn't have her. I'll take it, but also seems a bit desperate from Hoyo, I wonder if their playerbase is dropping off. Who did you go for?
Also liked that you can now see how many jades you have in modes you haven't finished. I have over 10,000 in modes like Gold and Gears and Swarm Disaster that I never finished. But I likely won't as I find them boring, doing the same thing and HP sponge enemies. It's just purposefully designed as a time waster.
@z0d15g0d - Yeah, that run was just to show a sustainless team. There's a lot of vids out there now with sub DPS Lingsha, Rappa etc.
@themightyant - Topaz is a solid get for your Fei team. You might be surprised how easy G&G and Swarm are now, those modes were designed when Jingliu was an S tier carry. Torturous difficulty still hits hard but the regular stuff doesn't cope well with newer units.
@Shigurui That's true it will likely be easier now. But I still find rogue-like mini-games like this a bit boring, purposefully designed to eat up time and keep us playing till the next patch. Frankly i'd rather play something else, my backlog is too big, and i'm trying to find a better balance... to play less of these games.
@themightyant - All good mate, I love rogue type games but I get why others don't. I had to drag myself away from the new Currency Wars mode earlier. Really enjoyable but as you said it exists to keep us playing and runs aren't over quickly. Its going to be rotating with DU as a weekly but there's a quick run option for that.
I'm also chipping away at my backlog but HSR is the only f2p/gaas I play now so I don't mind giving it a few hours a week outside of dailies when new stuff like CW gets added. Happy gaming dude!
@themightyant - I haven't played it yet but watched a vid about it. Seems its basically a copy/paste of an Elysia storyline in HI3. I'm just waiting for Bobby Ewing to wake up in the shower. 😄
While I am basically done with HSR at the moment there is a rumour that 4.0 may be delayed as (very mild spoilers for 4.0 location) it is based on a Japanese theme and currently Japan and China don't get along politically due to their support of Taiwan.
Will be interesting to see if this is this is true and if 4.0 releases as expected on 27th Jan and / or if any references / characters have been toned down.
EDIT: to be clear I think this is unlikely, but I think it is interesting to see what happens.
@themightyant - Hoyo confirmed 4.0 drip marketing is being delayed, whether or not that leads to the update itself getting pushed back is still up in the air. I don't do twitter/x/insta etc but Waveman put screens of the drip delay announcement on x in a YT vid I saw a few days ago.
