@Shigurui Raiden is incredible good luck (assuming you need it!).

Despite losing the 50:50 I ended up dumping almost all my saved Primos to get her C2 in the end. The reality is I use her in almost every spiral Abyss (usually "Raiden National" Team with OP 4-stars Xianling, Xingxiu and the true Pyro Archon Bennett. lol. Though Furina has some fun Raiden comps too as does new character Chevreuse).

While you absolutely don't need C2 at all - she is still top tier at C0 - C2 is seen as one of the most OP Constellations in the game. As I use her so much I figured I'd be better off spending my gems on her than a character I get, build but then rarely use. (Although now i'd seen Xianyun is Cloud Retainer, I kinda want her. Oh well... maybe the rerun!) She's also one of the few characters I have her signature weapon, so I thought I would double down. Now to save again for Neuvillette C1 he really needs a shielder otherwise and I use him a lot, C1 would make team comps more flexible as I could drop a shielder.

Genshin is a quite different to HSR in terms of rosters imo in that there is so little end game content and you just don't need as large or wide a squad of characters. Also many supports can be half built as they are only on the field for a split second to drop their skill or ultimate and aren't likely to die, unlike HSR.

@Shigurui Yeah 100% C2 Kazuha is another of those monster early constellations. Maybe one day.

They broke the game with Dendro and Hyperbloom, its TOO strong. Nahida + Kuki + Water & Dendro is hard to beat unless you whale hard. I have several teams along that archetype. Obviously we are in Fontaine, land of Hydro, but they have been adding bosses and content to try and lessen this ever since without resorting to an overall powercreep, something Genshin has been pretty good about compared to other games. Obviously there's always going to be the occasional new character that creeps to the top but Dendro and Hyperbloom really busted it open for the first time. It's the first time I think they got their calculations slightly wrong as all you need is EM main stats.

I slightly worry with HSR that they will powercreep even more which would diminish my interest somewhat, so hoping they don't!

@themightyant Lol yea it's really odd that they would do such a thing. And just like you my brain also put this scenario in the "all will be revealed at a later date" pile.

@Shigurui I'm looking forward to what the boss fight for Penacony will be.

@Shigurui Oof I'd be pretty salty with 4 points away from S rank also. This is my main issue with HSR the boss versions of the premium characters are miles better. It was the same reason I did not go for kafka when she launched even though I had the Jades. Her ability to "convert" enemies would have been awesome. Especially with Svarog's summons. I was so looking forward to his hand summon trapping him but they F*d the fans over. Yanqing also, If he had his boss kit instead of the crap his has now he'd be SS tier and could probably solo most fights. Even if they made his sword summon only available if he was the last surviving member I'd take a team of 3 weaklings just to get him in that phase.

@Shigurui are: new event do you mean the normal mode or the Despair (ultra hard) mode?

I found the normal mode really easy (SS rank in 3, S rank in the other 2, all first time) yet I still get owned in MoC, Pure Fiction etc.

For Yanquing I used Seele, Blade (trial), Bronya (trial) and Lynx. With quantum and Wind/Lightning buffs. I don’t remember there being much strategy other than trying to match up my attacks with the swords weaknesses to reduce number of enemies and got S rank 2944 first time.

Despair mode is ultra-hard even against the first one Ebon Deer I get owned in the second phase (still got a B rank) so I haven’t really bothered with that anymore. But thankfully you only have to “participate” to get all the rewards I.e. put in your weakest characters, die in 5 seconds and profit. Repeat x5 to get 100k credits.

@z0d15g0d agree all the boss fights have felt epic. I LOVED Cocolia too, when the music kicked in it felt amazing. Great cutscenes too.

I had another quick run at Pure Fiction. I slightly levelled my Himeko, Herta and Serval (all around Lv 60, 50/60 LC, 4-6 on traces and 3-9 on relics.) I’ve now got 6 stars on the first two fights. Can beat the third but not get any stars (max. only 36927 on several runs) and then get smashed in the fourth. They just don’t have enough HP/DEF and get one shotted, or two shotted if unlucky to get targeted twice.

Will try again next week once I’ve levelled up a bit more. Himeko + Ruan Mei + Herta is a pretty mean combo. As Himeko follows up when 3 enemies are weakness broken, which RM helps with and Herta hits all enemies, weakness breaks often, again with help from RM, and she in turn follows up any time enemies are less than 50% health. You end up chaining follow up attacks, building Ultimate and then doing it again. It’s VERY satisfying. But I just can’t get any decent points on Phase 1 of fight 3. (Lightning and Physical) even with Serval my best points is actually Seele with SW and Tingyun.

Need a wider roster (Preferably Argenti!!!) and more levelled characters.

@Shigurui @z0d15g0d How are you both getting on with Pure Fiction?

UPDATE: Did a few more runs and beat Fight 4 by just 14 points (30014) and scraped one star on Fight 3 (41529). I think that is the best I will get in terms of rewards without some healthy character upgrades. The biggest change I made was changing the buff to Excitation where there is an 80% chance for enemies to receive 1 stack of shatter on entering battle. This led to far more chaining of deaths and getting through the early phases quickly which gave a chance to eliminate a few more enemies for points. Very happy with that for now.

@Shigurui well done! Yep the catch is insanely good on her, it’s not far off her signature weapon if going for an Emblem set build. The only downside is there aren’t two, as it’s incredible on Xiangling.

While Emblem set is the OG and still super strong it’s also worth considering some of the newer builds like EM Raiden. I’ve not tried it as it took an age to farm
Emblem and Genshin REALLY needs a “saved loadouts” feature (4.5 has a loadout feature coming but it’s not what we wanted). But I’ve seen the theorycrafting and videos and it’s stupid strong too with Aggravate or Hyperbloom and EM. In which case Dragons bane or other weapons are super strong.

New character Chevreuse also enables some new Pyro + Electro only team comps. But I’ve not read up on that enough or tested it. But ER Raiden National with Xiangling, Xingxiu and Bennett is still one of the strongest and most flexible teams in the game.

TLDR: she’s one of the most versatile characters and can fit in MANY of the strongest teams either as a standard DPS, Hypercarry DPS, sub-DPS, ER & Ult booster, or EM proccer.

@Shigurui The EM build is completely different for Overload or Hyperbloom Raiden.

  • Level is important for EM builds so Lv 90 is a must.
  • Aim for 900+EM. So 3 EM main stats and EM substats.
  • 4pc Gilded Dreams or 2x 2pc +80 EM sets. (Gilded Dreams and Wanderers)
  • Important Note: She doesn't really need ER, Crit or ATK on this build either. All major damage comes from transformative reaction damage so, Level and EM, so just as much EM as possible. (Like Hyperbloom this is why it's busted, it's MUCH easier to farm for ONE stat than it is to try and get main stats and many substats. Much less RNG means you can easily hit whale like numbers)
  • Dragons Bane is best weapon in this case.
  • Many Teams are possible. But as you have C2 Kazuha probably an Overload team like Bennett, Xiangling and Kazuha is likely your strongest team.

@Shigurui Similar to you in some ways.

iWinToLose is my #1 goto. Great guides and dad puns FTW.

Occasionally listen to Zy0x (funny and well produced videos), Jyo (for spiral Abyss guides), Sevy & Moon (for build guides) and occasionally check out how Enviosity is getting on X years later (he reminds me of Sheldon which always makes me laugh) etc. Not seen Nakfrg thanks for the heads up.

As for Mtashed. I understand he is probably the most polarising character in the community... but personally I think he's great, and I think the community NEEDS more people like him. Why?

Almost everyone else is a theory crafter or by-the-numbers guide maker - This build is better that this build MATHEMATICALLY. They all say the same things as the numbers don't lie (much). Mtashed isn't that at all. If you want objective truths, his guides and tips are not a patch on the people above, don't go to him for that.

But what he does have is the confidence to say what he FEELS, he's not scared of being wrong or going against the flow. "I don't like this character as they feel bad to play or are clunky, even if they are mathematically strong." He's open, and says what he thinks at the time, even if that is different to what he says 5 minutes later. (lol) And he's happy to say he was wrong. Frequently.

He's also not afraid of pissing off MiHoYo unlike many of the creators who have their tongues so far up MiHoYo's ass they can taste tonsils... just to stay in their good books, get free primos and media server access. I like that he calls them out on their BS, again frequently. And is one of the few YouTubers to break down what he earns etc. I appreciate that transparency.

In short he's DIFFERENT to most of the others, who fall into a very similar net. That's very boring imho - Seen one, and you've seen them all. It's like a giant echo chamber.

On top of that he's an entertainer, he has personality. Some of it is a put on persona, streaming is acting, but some is real.

Lastly he's a good dude at heart. He realises the number of kids that follow him and, as a dad, he genuinely gives great life advice on his streams to kids. e.g. Don't spend money on these games. Get your priorities right, exercise before you play games. Play sports. Ask girls/boys out. Touch grass. lol. He also helps a lot of other streamers out behind the scenes with financial and other advice. Despite being very negative in his short videos he's a very positive and uplifting in his streams and a good role model.

TLDR: Despite all his flaws, and there are many, i'd take Mtashed over everyone else... except maybe iWinToLose.

@themightyant So far I've only got 1 star on stage 4 in Pure Fiction. Been playing the new MoC I'm glad they start you off on your highest completed max star stage now. All I had to do was beat stage 8 and lots of bounty.

z0d15g0d

z0d15g0d

@Shigurui I tend to go for text also but I'll check out the ones you suggest to watch and avoid the plagues also lol.

z0d15g0d

@z0d15g0d Definitely like that you unlock the MoC rewards easier. I only got up to Stage 4 last time, but it's still easy rewards. Want to do better next time to get more quick unlocks now I have more built charactres.

I also did my weekly simulated universe runs. What level do you and @Shigurui do these SU Worlds at? Always the highest? I finally unlocked TB 65 and the top level but I don't think i'm ready for those yet. I haven't even beaten some of the previous levels as the final boss kicks my ass, which is always annoying.

In fact I decided to get the first time rewards in some of the worlds I don't usually do and ended up getting an amazing Firmament Frontline: Glamoth Quantum Sphere that has Crit Rate, Crit Dmg and ATK% substats. I am thinking of using that for Seele instead of the Space Station set I am using as I haven't got any good Rutilant pieces. But I do lose some more SPD. All my recent upgrades have lost some SPD which is annoying. I just need a few more rolls really!

@themightyant I'm at max levels in SU. I find that if you use a path for your support or tank you can clear the harder levels. Preservation and abundance vs Ebon deer at max level is just bambi with annoying plant powers lol. I can even do it on auto now with no issues so long as I select the right blessings and curios.

z0d15g0d

themightyant

@z0d15g0d @Shigurui Thanks for the tips. I still have quite a few SU tree levels to go but will try Preservation and Abundance more. Was trying to get missing Blessings in other categories and try again. I have two strong teams now so should be better equipped too.

Anyone tried the new fiction stages? I've got 6 stars on the first 2 stages but 1 star on stage 3. I don't have any decent DoT characters and looks like this is specifically for them.

z0d15g0d

themightyant

@z0d15g0d 3 starred the first, one on the second, zero on the third. No I don't have DoT characters levelled either. But I only tried each once, i'm sure there are some optimisations I can do to do a bit better, like last time where I ended up with 8/12 stars with averagely built characters.

These modes seem designed to get us to build as wide a range of characters as possible and you don't have to level them that far. I got 8/12 with Lv 50-60 Himeko, Serval and Herta doing most damage in the last run. I'm sure I could spend a few days levelling Sampo, Guinaifen & Hook to do much better this time. We've got 6 weeks.

@z0d15g0d Sadly i'm busy most of this week and away this weekend so i'm not sure I'm going to properly get to Penacony any time soon. (no spoilers please!) Will do any dailies/time sensitive stuff if I can of course.
