Topic: FFVII Remake Failed Trophy Transfer

So I got FFVII Remake when it first came out on PS4 and spent about 100 hours to get the platinum trophy. I was happy to hear that the PS5 version of the game would transfer all your trophies as long as you transferred the PS4 save data. Well it didn’t work for me.

On my PS4 I opened FFVII Remake and uploaded my 100 hour save data and then, on my PS5 I opened the game and downloaded my save file. I opened the save file and none of the trophies popped up. I figured that I needed to do some stuff to get the game to update and realize I had completed everything already. So I played the Top Secret Shinra Combat Simulator and got the trophy for defeating the Pride and Joy Prototype but none of the other trophies popped up.

I couldn’t find a way to contact PlayStation with this issue and I don’t think Square Enix would be able to help. If you have any idea as to why my trophies didn’t transfer, please let me know!

@AndrewR727 just out of interest, did you upload you save through the PS4 version of the game, or just by uploading it to the cloud through the the system menu?

@colonelkilgore I uploaded my data through the PS4 version of the game.

@AndrewR727 damn… the only thing I can think of then is maybe FFVIIR hadn’t 100% installed to the PS5 before you sow loaded your save. You can start the game at around 30% 🤷‍♂️

@colonelkilgore The only thing that I could possibly think of is that I started playing the Intermission Episode where I unlocked a couple of the base game trophies.
I downloaded my PS4 save data after playing Intermission for a little bit, and since my trophy list wasn’t at 0% my trophies weren’t transferred. I’m not sure why that would cause this problem , but I think it’s most likely what happened.

@AndrewR727 could be bud, well if it’s any consolation it’s a great game to go through earning all the trophies again.
