Topic: Backwards Compatibility Change?

So Genshin Impact got updated this week on Tuesday and all is well on my PS4.

Tonight i turned on the Ps5 and had
this:

This playstation 4 game is not compatible with ps5, check for a version that works leading to PS5 edition.

A change in the background by Sony to stop playing both games on the PS5 or developer fault?

Ive reported it to MiHoYo but seems odd. PS4 demos have also the same message but i know some did work!

like a guy told me here , it’s an emulator they’re using for last gen , not true BC . that update isn’t coded for the emulator .

@nomither6 PS5 can drop its clock speed to play PS4 games this well. That's about as much as backwards compatible as anything can ever be, without having the exact same hardware.

And you wouldn't want the PS5 to have the same hardware as PS4 for obvious reasons.

@Hatsune_Miku Have you tried clearing your database cache on your PS5? Boot in safe mode, then select that option? If no one else experiences the problem, that's where I'd look.

@Hatsune_Miku This isn't exactly a solution to the problem but... any particular reason you can't just use the native PS5 version on PS5?

@Voltan I normally play PD5 version bit in order to regisyer trophies obtained you have to boot PS4 version for them to pop officially.

As i no longer have the PS4 i have to load the other edition of the game.

Answer found on a friends PS4 MiHoYo have disabled backwards compatibility on the PS5.

Kinda sucks but oh well!
