@TheBrandedSwordsman @Th3solution Castle Cainhurst has to rank alongside Ash Lake as the two best non-required (hidden) areas in all of video games. I don't think I'd ever have found either without having heard about them first. It's possible I'd have gotten lucky and stumbled upon CC... but AL, no way.

@colonelkilgore @TheBrandedSwordsman So I did a little investigating and I did indeed play through Castle Cainhurst. I remember a castle type setting pretty vividly but couldn’t recall if that’s what it was called but sure enough I did it. I have the trophy for entering Cainhurst and for defeating Martyr Logarius, which I hadn’t remembered him by name but when I searched him then it all came back. I really struggled with him, as I recall. Died many times before finally getting a method down to take care of him and his annoying projectiles. Ah, the memories....

@lolwhatno Oooohhhh, I see it now! It’s a side profile of him, with a headband and also a colored scarf or something under his face too. 😂 It’s like one of those perspective puzzle things.

@Th3solution nice dude, it's such a different feel to the rest of the game there... much more classical horror than the rest of the game

@RogerRoger

Your very welcome, I still prefer phyical copies of games over the digital!

@RKBronuts Great game! I replayed the first game last year and it does still hold up really well. The standalone story DLC that's included is really good too and not too long.

And then the second game is even better still!

@RKBronuts personally, I'd temper your expectations just a wee bit... I'm in the minority but while it's an absolutely great narrative and overall package, the gameplay is quite average. Still, I hope you enjoy it all the same.

@colonelkilgore I feel the opposite. Found the story painfully middle of the road. Loved the gameplay loop.

@RKBronuts oh I definitely think it’s worth playing, just to experience it... in fact I plan on returning to it this year to refresh myself with the story before I play part 2 in October. As far as trying the exclusives... deffo, try them all. Bloodborne and God of War are two of my favourite games of all time, and I thoroughly enjoyed Horizon: Zero Dawn, Days Gone, Spider-man, Death Stranding, Nioh... the list goes on.

@nessisonett and that is why the world is such a wonderful place 🖖

@RogerRoger I just had to do the fake disk-swap on MGS as it goes 😎

@RogerRoger @colonelkilgore Disc swaps felt like magic when I was younger. The GameCube had a few of them due to the dinky size so games like Tiger Woods and GoldenEye Rogue Agent had that whole ‘swap disc’ screen. I always associated removing the disc with the very world exploding as the game strictly warned you not to. So naturally I tried putting different discs like Simpsons Hit & Run in during the disc swap only for it to not work at all.

@nessisonett you tempt the very fates themselves with such skull-discery... I’m here all week 🥳

@colonelkilgore Now that pun was just disc-usting.

@RogerRoger enjoy bud, I loved the first 2 back in the day, never got around to finishing 3 for some reason. I’ll deffo see the trilogy through with the Legendary Edition though. All the buzz has actually got me quite excited to return to the series.

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy good to know you’re enjoying God Eater. I picked up the trilogy on sale in the store recently, must’ve had all three for around £15. Have always been tempted to give Monster Hunter World a serious go (I gave it like 5 or 6 hours back at its release but wasn’t hooked and started something else) but the 300 hours play time has put me off a little. I figured God Eater would be a good test to see whether the gameplay loop would reel me in enough to return to MHW.

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy yeah you may be right... maybe it would be worth your while to sign up to PS+ for a month if and when you get around to starting MHW.

You get the little cats who are AI controlled in MHW, @Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy. Can't remember exactly what they do as only played it for 20 or so hours a couple of years back, but i think they can buff and heal you?

Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

Thrillho

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy Yeah, the Palicoes in Monster Hunter World act as little AI companions if you’re playing solo.

As @JohnnyShoulder they can attack but also you can unlock different gear for them that have different effects. Later in the game you can also briefly recruit “wild” ones to help you too.

They’re not overpowered but act as a good distraction for monsters if you’re playing solo.
