@Indoorhero I came close to just buying a second hand physical copy of Cyberpunk the other day. It was selling for $7. 😂 I figured it would be worth it if the rumored PS5 version ever comes out.
Have you tried to play Cyberpunk on your PS4 or PS5?

@Indoorhero Yeah, I kinda regret not just grabbing the used copy the other day. For the price of a McDonald’s value meal, it’s probably worth the investment.

On PS4? Doubt I'll be getting a great deal of PS4 games going forward. On PS5 it will probably between Dying Light 2 or Ghostwire Tokyo. Or maybe something I've missed like Ratchet and Clank. Have to see what tickles my fancy after Elden Ring. I won't be getting Horizon FW until a bit later in the year.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
@LtSarge The Outer Worlds is a surprisingly small game. I'm someone who plods along slowly and tries to explore every nook and cranny that a game has to offer, and I still finished the entire thing in only about 30 hours.
I just bought Edge of Eternity. But that might end up being the last game I buy for my standard PS4. Everything else, I really want to experience on the PS5, so I'm just going to have to wait.
@colonelkilgore I came really close last week, but my inner conscience told me that there was no way I’m getting around to that game in the next 3 months and who knows when the PS5 version is coming out…. Then the had to stealth drop the PS5 version without warning. 😠
I’m not even sure I’ll like the game, since it’s first person POV and I didn’t really get along with Witcher 3. But I literally don’t know of a AAA PS5 game that I can get for under $10. If nothing else, maybe it’s an investment and I can resell it at a mark up if I don’t like it. I just have to run to the store and make sure some other enterprising soul hasn’t bought up all the used copies. 😅

@Th3solution i know right… after the elongated build up to its original release, who’d have guessed the way they’d drop the upgrade?
I’m not ‘really’ a fan of games that use a first person perspective myself mate… they can win me over though. I got a feeling that I’ll quite like Cyberpunk 2077 as long as the mess that it was has been cleaned up. I was never under the impression that it was gonna be the gaming messiah like some people before it was unveiled… but I reckon it might well figure in the best 10 games that I’ve played during 2022. That’ll be good enough for me I reckon.
Torn between Horizon Forbidden West on PS4 and Triangle Strategy on Nintendo Switch. Regardless of which one I go for, Kirby and the Forgotten Land will be my next purchase afterward at the end of March, followed closely by Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re-Boot Camp in early April.
@Ralizah Saw a trailer for that new Kirby game the other day and thought it was freakin' adorable! Not surprised to see you've got it locked in; hope it plays as nice as it looks!
"We want different things, Crosshair. That doesn't mean that we have to be enemies."
@RogerRoger I'm not usually a big Kirby fan, but this new one looks like a very high-quality experience, more like what you'd expect from a mainline Mario game. I'll be playing through it with my nephew, who is very excited for it.
Although the 'mouthful mode' transformations are slightly... nightmare-inducing.
Sony and Nintendo both seem like they're going to have one heck of an excellent 2022, with a lot of cool-looking releases coming out. Not even going to bother trying to keep up with most of them, lol.
@RogerRoger If I had a Switch, I’d definitely be getting that one. It’s been a while (25 years, maybe more?) since I played a Kirby game but I always liked that round pink whatever it is.
@Ralizah Yeah, out of all the IP exclusive to Nintendo, I reckon Kirby is the one I know the least amount, so I was kinda surprised by how much the trailer made me smile (although also not surprised at all; as you say, this has "quality first-party Nintendo game" written all over it). I'm sure even some of its more nightmarish elements will end up working well. Hope you and your nephew enjoy!
I've already broken my "don't make any unnecessary pre-orders" resolution by going ahead and securing a copy of Horizon: Forbidden West today and so yeah, as tough as it might be to keep up with all these amazing releases, I reckon resistance might prove equally futile!
@Voltan Good question; just what the heck is a Kirby anyway?! You look back over the history of mascot gaming and you've got plumbers, hedgehogs, ottsels and then there's... that?!
"We want different things, Crosshair. That doesn't mean that we have to be enemies."
@RogerRoger maybe I was a bit vague when quoting (& cheekily fixing) @Voltan. He’s a caricature of John Kirby who successfully defended Nintendo in a lawsuit against Universal back in the 80’s. The bigwigs at Nintendo were so impressed that they wanted to immortalise him as a mascot character. Still, I’m not exactly sure what the character itself is meant to be… but I’ve always thought him very cloud-like.
@RogerRoger The disturbing elements don't bother me too much, since Kirby has always been an eldritch monstrosity (albeit a very cute one). The thing inhales and absorbs other living creatures whole, for goodness' sake!
I think I'm broadly done with preordering titles for the time being. Kirby, Advance Wars, and whatever will be purchased when they're out on shelves. Admittedly, this is mostly because I can buy them at an almost 20% discount at Wal-Mart after they come out.
At least it's not like there's any real risk of Horizon Forbidden West (you really can't resist adding in that colon to the title, can you? ) disappointing you.
