@Th3solution Can't criticize the reasoning and the choice. Once I got passed my frustration with the boss fights, I highly enjoyed Kena.

I've yet to play Life is Strange 2 as well actually. It had nothing to do with the original story, so I wasn't in any rush to play it when it came out and it pretty much slipped through the cracks at this point.

I’m that guy who still hasn’t brought Elden ring. Mainly because I haven’t finished demons remake yet

@JohnnyShoulder ah right, sorry dude I thought you meant that you’d tried The Ascent and wasn’t into it.

@colonelkilgore Yeah I think I edited it as it wasn't clear what game I was going on about. 😂

Bought Little Nightmares as was on offer for £3.59 for the full game and dlc. Has anyone played this?

Aslo Metro 2033 Redux is 1.29 on sale on the ps store how are these games? I've never played any

Also Code Vein is £7 at Cex and really interested in picking it up and giving it a go at some point, can anyone tell me if it's worth while or not?

@MaulTsir I’ve played Code Vein. It’s a half-decent souls-like to be fair, though not quite on the level of From Softs output, the Nioh games… and I’d also put The Surge games above it if I’m honest. Still enjoyed it though.

@MaulTsir
Little Nightmares is a decent enough puzzle platformer with good graphics and a spooky atmosphere. It's not too taxing and not especially long. A good pallette cleanser game. I never did get all of the trophies though, think one required a complete run with no deaths. Never had the DLC though.

@colonelkilgore I'm seeing some good things about it in reviews, mainly praising the combat, I am a Soul's noob to be honest with only playing Bloodborne (although I did get the plat!) lol.

I did play The Surge last year though as I had it in my ps plus list and completed it although I didn't really think too much of it, decent enough combat but bit of a bland story/characters, seemed like it wanted to be a bit of a Cross between certain games (gears, bullet clip, Soul's type).

I will probably pick it up as its only £7 and add it to the long long backlog and probably get round to it in about 4 years when it's then worth £1 🤣

@MaulTsir Metro for that price is a steal. Loved that game, even if the first one is very PS3. A definite cut above the average FPS through its atmosphere and the genuinely intriguing plot. Plus the devs are Ukrainian and the writer of the original books is very outspokenly anti-war!

@sorteddan yeah for £3.59 I thought I'd give it a go, I'll probably play it as something to stop me burning out from one of the longer games I've got going. I'll have to see if the plats attainable or if its a grind because I will probably only do one playthrough, 2 if its short enough.

@MaulTsir
Didn't have a platinum if I remember correctly. Just the gold which I never went back for. I probably would be done for a plat!

MaulTsir

@nessisonett Nice to know, I'll definitely pick it up. I've actually heard quite alot about these games and know they are loved by people who play them, I was worried that it would be really out dated.

Sniper Elite 5. Big fan of this series, so looking forward to its release at the end of the month.

@Kairu I bought Metroid Dread on release, and really enjoyed my time with the game TBH.

It seemed to suffer 2 x major criticisms, 1) Linearity & 2) Short Play-Time.... but honestly I found both of these to be quite refreshing!

The game is quite short for sure (8-10hrs is average completion main campaign) but it feels like a tight & streamlined experience, avoiding bloat and 'open world' mechanics.

There is a nice challenge curve also, with some of the bosses being pretty brutal...a couple are even Elden Ring standard! (IMO). I found this quite refreshing for a Nintendo IP, and the difficulty/challenge kept me engaged throughout.

Let me know your thoughts? Price tag @ 36 £GBP on Amazon is a fair price too. (£50 @ launch was slightly too much I think)

My next purchase will likely be Salt & Sacrifice next week... but honestly I am holding out for a Switch port/release, as generally I prefer to play 2D-souls/likes games on Switch as this seems a great platform for such.

@CJD87 Honestly, metroid-style games do best when they don't pad themselves out unnecessarily. 8 - 12 hours is pretty standard for the genre overall.

Can't speak to the linearity, but it can't be any worse than Metroid Fusion in that regard, and all of these games have an 'expected' flow to them anyway.

Ugh. Men.

@Ralizah Agree with all your points, and I felt that the "game is too short" rhetoric was quite unjust... It was very refreshing to play a tightly scripted and polished game over a weekend, devoid of 'open world bloat' etc! I've only played Super Metroid and Dread, so can't speak for Fusion... but understand that the Prime series is held in relatively high regard

Was nice to warm up the Switch! Eagerly awaiting MHR Sunbreak now
