Topic: The Trophy Discussion Thread

@nessisonett I know a gold ring and a silver ring and one is usually North and the other South, one is a curse and the other might be a buff. I was using a stage in the game that keeps spawning them for golden eggs. Clock Lancet is the one I'd been using for Death, Laurel I should remember except Crimson Desert has a million items so I probably forgot so I could make room for all of these. Metalgios I've seen, the red arrow one but not used. I don't know what Queen Sigma is either. I've really just been playing the first few maps while trying different characters and treating it like a forever game. It's been a good switch your mind off and just play kind of game, the whole genre has. There's also another menu I never tried it was challenges or something and there were four maybe five. I'm making a manual save at the moment to switch games so I can see what kind of progress I've made over there.

The music alone spikes my addiction. Adventures, all three undone and not started.

Maps I've run: Mad Forest, Inlaid Library, Dairy Plant, Gallo Tower, Cappelle Magna, Il Molise, and the others I'm not sure if I've even tried before because I always end up running the same maps and just get lost in the colours and the numbers, the loot too. I probably should pick one character and commit to seeing all of the maps, it would be good for golden eggs too. I've mostly been using Clerici, Dommario, Poe, Mortaccio, O'Sole and recently tried Amrojoe after finding that Kinderegg (icon) looking power where furniture flies everywhere. Chula-Reh was recent too, it feels like Tetris when I'm dropping jewels on monsters heads. I'm trying to not hit play right now.

There are seven whole rows of characters not unlocked and I've just been waiting until I randomly find the unlock condition by playing. Can you recommend one character to focus on? That way I can try all of the maps and collect some of those other missing items and put the golden eggs to good use. I'm in no rush it's one of those games that keep on giving. I'll jump on their Warhammer one whenever that eventually arrives too. I started Yet Another Zombie Survivor this week, it's really good too.

Edit: I saw your reply but don't want to choke the thread, I'll work on maxing the curse later tonight I think. I'm looking at the Crimson Shroud and Laurel at the moment too, it's crazy how much content they squeezed into one game. I'm so glad I listened to people when they said to try it. That one game opened the genre I needed to get back into gaming, I still have to try BallxPit too, and Balatro.

Edit: @TDHorizon I'm pretty sure Oram is a machine sent back from the future to platinum the games of the past. Lately it seems like that, especially since some of those games are huge.

@GirlVersusGame I’d not really recommend a specific character because you’ll need to get them all to at least level 50 to unlock their Randomazzo. My go-to after that was Red Death, which is one of the secret unlocks once you have the forbidden scroll. What I’ll say as a hint is that the Laurel and the Clock Lancet evolve, and you’ll see how you do it when you pick up the rings or the Metaglios. I’d also recommend that you do increase Curse, the extra enemy stats are offset by your own buffs and you need the more enemies spawning to maximise your XP.

@Oram77 honestly how are you smashing through these games!?

I still may pick this up at some point as the fact it doesn't hold your hand is what really draws me in. I really like exploration without map markers etc.

I finally have something to contribute beyond cheering from the sidelines, as earlier today I was able to pop two platinums that I'd been chipping away at in slow time. I wanted to get them together and had to accelerate one with a little overtime last night, but it all worked out. I was also tempted to leave them 'til Monday, so that their shared date read "07/09" but alas, I'm busy Monday.

@Oram77 Thanks! Up next for me, there's nothing I'm gonna set out to platinum. I'm hoping that some of the year's new games will come with achievable trophy lists, though! There's also that Star Wars PS1 classic that got a very easy platinum patched in the other day, so I'll pop that when I have a free evening.

What about you, what are you currently working on? Although at the rate you're posting updates, you'll likely have earned your next platinum before you can answer!

@Werehog liking the star wars/trek streak you're going on, will you be getting Galactic racer? I'm really tempted but I think I will hold off for awhile. Unfortunately I playing MGS4 right now, while the game is truly a master piece (imo) the trophy list is not... put it this way, one trophy involves a play through that must be 35 HOURS long!! Which honestly is just pathetic.

@Oram77 Yes indeed, Galactic Racer is gonna be my next big "play at launch" game! I'll try not to drop too many enthusiastic thoughts on the forum, make sure I don't push your temptation over the edge!

Oh, heck no, MGS4 is not a game to be platinumed lightly. I wasn't surprised to see that they didn't alter its trophy list, but I was still a little disappointed, as I would have preferred something a little more attainable. I'll be happy if I can get the same percentage as I did before. So long as you're still able to enjoy the ride, that's the most important thing. Have fun!

@Oram77 @Werehog even though i wish you both best of luck if you ever decide to pursuit the MGS4 plat (I am contemplating it, personally), no one will think of you less for walking away, metal gear has a strangely high skill ceiling for its plats which is… commendable, I’ll give ‘em that.
