@johncalmc Congrats ! That's a nice one.

@AgentCooper heeey congrats to the young trophy hunter ! Probably the first of many

#354 Ghostwire : Tokyo - This could've been called Collectible : Tokyo to be honest, there are literally THOUSANDS of collectibles, this is just insane. Lots of pros and cons on this one, the story and characters are uninteresting, the campaign was meh, but at the same time, navigating through the city felt great, and combat is very cool. So yeah, a bit mitigated. An interesting game all in all.

@AgentCooper Congrats to Trainee Cooper.
@Cornaboyzzz Good job on Ghostwire, I'm playing that ATM on and off and I'm really not sure at the moment...I don't like to give up on games but PS+ Extra makes it so easy.

@AgentCooper much congrats to lil’ Cooper, amazing stuff from the youngster!

Much congrats to @Cornaboyzzz too, sounds like a bit of a mixed bag for you but you got the shiny and will hopefully find something more to your taste got #355.

Out of my 12 platinums, which is a small amount compared to most, 9 of them are of the cheap "buy a platinum" variety. That was roughly a year ago when I thought it would be a good idea to buy cheap platinums (I only had 1 at the time) with those $1.49 shovelware games that flooded PSN for a period. When going through my trophy list from time to time I see the group of 9 all together and it almost feels like they are a stain on my trophy list. Likely an overreaction, but I do kind of wish I didn't bother getting those 9 cheap platinums. A platinum is a platinum no matter how you got it I suppose.

@KilloWertz I have quite a few platinums but then again my collection date back to when they started (my first one is Uncharted 1 in 2008 I think) so I've never felt the need to "catch up".
I did do a couple of autopop platinums and they didn't really sit right with me so I refuse to do them now but I do sometimes replay a game simply because I enjoyed the game And earning another platinum is a cherry on the top (and definitely not a "freebie").
Each to their own at the end of the day so it's whatever really but I do read the "latest platinum" thread on psnprofiles, mainly because I like to see what people thought of a game etc.. and there is one person which posts these minute platinums and multiple regional stacks of them and you wonder why they bother but then it does wind people up over on psnprofiles so perhaps that is it.

I'm surprised Sony hasn't clamped down on them and on the flip side it is quite of annoying to see £20+ games lacking a platinum, quite a few PSVR titles fall in this category, I even have a VR game which is 200hr 10/10 difficulty and it lacks one (I read a Reddit post from the developer and he said post launch that he would try to add one and I thought "I'm sure Sony won't be allowing that").

@CaptD I was on the PS3 whenever trophies debuted as well. I just never really cared to go out of my way to get a platinum, which is why I only had 1 for over a decade. I'm not sure why I decided one day last year to start getting these $1.49 vaporware platinums.

I definitely will never buy any of those "games" again just to get platinums. As I said earlier, it bothered me seeing them on my trophy list as it almost felt like I tainted my account, but obviously there's nothing I can do about it now.

@CaptD @AgentCooper @colonelkilgore Hey fellas. I’ve dropped the Far Cry 5 platinum attempt. Tried to get on with the game, but it’s seriously just grinding my gears at this point.
Thought about dropping it entirely over the weekend as I was doing the Jacob missions (not fun! who thought that was a good idea?).

Triggered Faith mission by accident by fast travelling. So I just want to get this over it at this point.

I have such a love-hate relationship with Ubi games & takes a while before I remember why these games always end up burning me out😅. Same thing happened with Origins. Loved it for 20 hours or so then lost me.
Going to focus on the DQXI platinum.

Also definitely up for doing some boosting in the future👍.

@colonelkilgore Will do. I know it’s probably 100hours+, but I’m just taking my sweet time with it. @AgentCooper I had to check but the last Ubi game I got 100% were Far Cry Primal & Child of Light. I say 100% because CoL does not have a platinum! Great game though.

@AgentCooper I mostly played it on the vita on the commute to work way back then. Probably only took me 10-12 hours, but yeah no platinum.

I think a sequel was in development, but it got canned. I imagine it didn’t sell to well.

@Fight_Teza_Fight No worries, FC5 does seem quite divisive, personally it is my favourite (I've yet to play fc6) but I think that is mainly down to the vehicles and the world, I do think Ubisoft are great designing the world just not so much with populating it.
As for Creed, Oddyssey is pretty good and Kassandra voice actress is great plus the side missions are actually fun and amusing, for the most part. It is the best Ubisoft taking on Witcher 3 yet.

Ps. Haven is full of ex Ubisoft developers

Congrats @Kidfried, it’s a game I’ve been looking forward to for sometime. Had only heard glowing recommendations previously, so was a little surprised by your experience… doesn’t hurt to lower my expectations a little bit though.

CaptD

Well done @Kidfried on sticking with the game, shame it didn't live up to your expectations. I did like the look of it but I think it is beyond my platforming skills.
Their next game Sea of Stars looks like a good throwback to the old turnbased JRPG days and I seem to remember watching some early previews which seemed quite favourable (aren't all previews this way though?).

Platinum #136 - Saints Row 4 - very underrated, I had a lot of fun with it tbh.

Platinum #137 - Stilstand - weird… don’t even know if I’d call it a game.

Platinum #138 - Life is Strange 2 - a brilliant narrative. Never really used to place much emphasis on a games story but this and the original have started to change my perspective. Loved it!

Platinum #139 - Save Room - fun (if simple) little puzzler. The perfect preamble to my decision to start playing through every Resident Evil game (starting in October for Halloween).

Platinum #140 - Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls - just in time for Diablo 4… was my intention. Having played it now though, I might end up skipping the next one. Certainly not a bad game… just not my cup of tea really.

This little haul has me 20 plats for the first 6 months of 2023 and has finally gotten me over the 75% completion rate on my overall trophy list as well as an S Rank overall average on PSNProfiles! 🎉

@colonelkilgore Wow congrats on that bag of plats. As for S rank, I didn't know there was such a thing and have just checked mine and is a common garden A...just as well I go off the ultra rare stat. 😛

@colonelkilgore
That is a suitably impressive (ridiculous) way to start a new month. Well done!

@Kidfried
Congrats on your latest, and for sticking with it through the disappointing parts.

After @colonelkilgore ‘s update, I’m almost ashamed to share my latest prize, but I’ve been so absent from the club that I will anyway — Yay, me for platinum number 39 (and trophy number 5200, which was pure luck to have landed a platinum on an even trophy number like that), Tacoma.

Great little game and a very easy platinum. Took me about 2 hours and there’s a little bit of backtracking and I had to consult a guide for a couple of the more cryptic trophies, so it’s not a “gimme” platinum for just finishing the game. But it’s such a small and short game, once you know what you have to do for some of the more random trophies it just takes a few minutes of extra effort.

If you’re curious about the game I did write a review about it over on yonder review thread.

@Th3solution
Excellent stuff, welcome back to the club. In my opinion the only platinums that matter are the last one and the next one. You've achieved the last one, good luck with the next one.
And thanks for the heads up - will go check your review later.

@CaptD @sorteddan cheers guys, I’m sure that you’ll both be joining me with a June plat or two yourselves shortly, if previous months are anything to go by 👍

Congrats @Th3solution, yeah I’ll go check your review out and maybe pick this up.
