@Nebel47 Its not likely to be the data that corrupts/breaks a HDD, its more likely to be caused by wear. A mechanical HDD has moving parts etc that can wear and lead to 'failure'. SSD's are 'solid state drives' so have no moving/mechanical parts. That wear can lead to errors in reading, finding and saving data.
I doubt that you would have issues downloading games from Sony to a 'new' formatted HDD - assuming its of 'decent' quality and 'brand new'. Its more likely that a 'failing' HDD was the cause of any corruption, not the 'download' itself
