Holy **** guys, just put the Witcher in to start installing and now my PS4 isn't reading discs! I've just tried with Batman and same thing there! This was working fine a few days ago and I'm sure I've not had any software updates since then. HELP!!!

Well if no discs are working you could have a bad lens which means contacting Sony is your best bet, either that or start buying digital.

Did you press eject to turn the system back on? A few people have done that and it's caused problems

did you install the recent update? I believe I read that it effects disc reading (go figure). Whoops didn't read the post properly, so I would just contact Sony.

Crisis averted! I ended up doing a couple hard resets, cleaned out a little dust from the sides, nothing. Checked my storage and realised I was nearly maxed out - freeing up some space appears to have fixed the problem!

Manadory installs are the only thing keeping me from buying the PS4.

@andrew20: what do you mean? Mandatory installs on the games themselves? It's been the case throughout last gen... If you just mean the updates you can skip these. Not sure why you would in general, though.

You know when you put the disk in and it downloads everything on the disk to the hard drive

@andrew20: Haha okay I'm intrigued - yeah it does install automatically, but if you put the disc in it's because you want to install and play it no? Same as PS3/Xbox 360, XB1, etc? Used game or not it's the same process? Sorry maybe I'm not understanding you

I do not want the hard drive full in about 8 games and have to delete or replace hard drive for more memory and that sounds hard and voids your warranty.
