Topic: Nier: Automata

Anyone been playing this gem since the last patch? Im having a little go this evening and that annoying stuttering in the open areas seems far reduced, which is nice.

Regarding the DLC, what are coliseums? Just arena battles I suppose?

I brought this yesterday and am loving it. The only thing that I have a question about is the settings menu. Is it supposed to be all garbled with what looks like computer code? It's​ impossible to tweak settings that I can't read!

@Talkshowhost Glad you're enjoying it, its really good! Not sure what you mean regarding the unreadable settings though? Will double check tonight, I know there is some weird glitch effect going on with the fonts but I don't recall it making any of the options unreadable?

Question: Can you not use your pod special when playing as 9s? I press the L2 button and nothing happens at all, but when I'm 2b it utilizes the pod special. Am I missing something?

@luke17 You can. I'm pretty sure you have to reapply the chip though. They are two different pods.

@luke17 u have to equip your pod with whatever special attack u want. I guess after first playthrough it resets your pods skills.

And it's L1 for special, no?

Just finished first playthrough. I am loving this game, it is so different than any other action rpg out there. Such an original idea for a game, if there is anything else like this out there someone please let me know.

@ellsworth004 Glad you like it. Im a sucker for Platinums combat systems, Vanquish, Transformers, whatever I lap it up. Stick it in a 50 hour plus scifi themed JRPG and you got one happy gamer.

@kyleforrester87 second playthrough is really good, trying to take my time a little and enjoy it. Stuff I read said second playthrough repetitive, but I'm not really feeling that way. Your doing alot of the same things I guess just so much different. They hit a home run with this one!

@ellsworth004 Yeah I really liked seeing it from the other perspective to be honest. It's repetitive I suppose by definition but that's not necessarily a bad thing when its so much fun to play.

@kyleforrester87 did u do 3 playthrough? Get all ending?

@ellsworth004 Yeah got the main 5 and a few extras. Playing it again now.

@kyleforrester87 how long did that take? At first I thought this was gonna be a kinda short game. I think I was wrong.

@ellsworth004 it took me about 55 hours with 60% side quest completion

@kyleforrester87 I just finished second playthrough, wow I really wish more games would do stuff like this. Even watching the intro movie is good lol.

@ellsworth004 Yeah! Enjoy the 3rd Im looking forward to the DLC next week.

Thinking this is probably the best candidate for me to buy for the Golden Week sale, especially since I'm still in the "trial" phase of my PS+ membership and so get the extra discount essentially for "free."

silly as it is, I had real trouble with the demo because her sword floats nearish her back.... I mean, it looks like pre-alpha graphics where they haven't started work on the scabbard/on your back graphics/model/whatever. Not functional, but super distracting.

I mean, do they even explain that?
