I am curious how othen all u gamers play on a week to week basis. Me, for example, it varies so like. I can play anywhere from 20-40 hours a week to 30-70 hours a week. So I am curious how many hours all u guys clock up on a week to week basis I know with the Coronavirus it could be a lot more than usual but what if we didn't have the Coronavirus how othen would u guys play on a week to week basis?

It depends on what my social and work life permit. I love playing games and want to play as often as I can.
When my friends and I are planning on hanging out it almost always involve games in some sort of manner.
So I guess somewhere between 30-60 a week. I wish I could game more xD

It depends on my mood.
Sometimes i can play 12 hours by total in one day, sometimes just between 2 - 3 hours in a day, sometimes just not playing at all.

Realistically, with 2 young ish children and full time work (for now, thanks Covid-19), I would say on average I game about 7-10 hours a week. That is also often split by system as well - so my PS4/XB1 are in the front room but my retro and previous gen consoles are in a small office.

It makes large games very difficult to get through for me. If I am really into a game I tend to prioritise playing that and the Switch is a godsend for allowing me to get more time. I normally have a main console game and handheld game on the go at the same time.

Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot

I say about 30 hours minimum in a normal week if I'm not out or something.

@Rudy_Manchego snap.

Even during the current crisis, my gaming is mostly little games. By the time the house has wound down its way past 10pm. So a couple of hours proper gaming if I'm lucky.

Probably around 3 1/2 hours a day when I’m not working or travelling. Probably around an hour when I’m working or travelling.

it depends what with work and all (which is even more hectic in this current situation) but generally i get at least a minimum of 3 hours every day so that's what 21 hours a week minimum but on times off that can increase quite a bit

Currently, thanks to the lockdown, it's anywhere between three and six hours a day. Normally? It's anywhere between three and six hours a day.

No, but seriously, it can depend on my mood, what else I've got going on, and a host of other factors. There are days between games where I'd rather write, or watch stuff, or just listen to music and read. When I'm properly into a big story-driven game, though, and waking up desperate to continue with it, I'm mostly looking at that six-hour-a-day ballpark figure.

Used to be able to play in longer sessions, but nowadays I'm usually turning my console off after three straight hours, usually less, even when I'm hooked. It's always good to mix things up, and that's where a planned evening's gaming can go awry because I get distracted.

Usually around 3 hours a day. I use remote play a lot on my iPad.

@themcnoisy Yep - gone are those all night gaming sessions. I need sleep too freakin much now!

I’m gonna say far too much. Given I’m a student, half the week I’m normally in early and the other half I’m in late. This means either I play a bit at night if I have a bit of a lie in or I play a bit in the afternoon if I get back from classes early. Thanks to lockdown, I’m now on the PS4 more often than not since my classes are now all done. Embarrassingly, once I managed to miss a whole day as in literally sleep right through to the next morning because I’d been playing tons of PS4.

@nessisonett What game were you playing, just out of interest?

@JohnnyShoulder That was when I was playing God of War when it was on PS Now and I only had a week left to complete it. I managed to play the whole series before getting to it but I was about 30 minutes away from getting the platinum before it went away. I ended up playing rather a lot of it in a short period of time.

@nessisonett Man, that stinks! I’m sure you got your money’s worth of enjoyment out of it, but that’s one of the issues I have with these services — the rotation of games means you’re on their schedule if you want to play something. I’m not familiar with the Xbox version of the game collection service (forgetting the name of it atm) but it’s also a rotational library where things drop off correct?

I find that if it’s after 3 am there’s no point going to bed and I might as well pulling an all nighter. If I wake up in the night and it’s after about 4:45 am there’s no point getting to back to sleep and I might as well get up. I catch up by going to bed early the next evening.

I'm married with two kids, so its not as much as it once was. There were times when I was younger that I might spend an entire day off gaming, from breakfast to bed. That never happens any more. If I had a new game that I was into, I might play it 30 or more hours in a week.

These days, I mostly game after my wife and kids have gone to bed. Usually for an hour or two at a time. These days, I doubt that I ever top 20 hours a week, and am probably 10-15 most of the time.

It varies massively. Sometimes I can get a good four or five hours in over the course of a day. Sometimes I'll just have to snatch 10 minutes here or half an hour there when I can.

So 20-70 hours per week?? Lol!

But seriously, I used to love playing games (would never call my self a gamer though - it was never a huge part of my life) when I was younger. But work and family naturally took priority as I got older.

During the lockdown and thanks to the perfect timing of FF7r I got back into it. I'm averaging about 3 hours per day at the moment. 2 in the evening, and one at lunch. Sometimes more but other days I'll miss an entire session so that's def the average. So about 20hrs a week.

Pre lockdown, maybe a couple of hours a week. Bought a switch in 2019 so prob a bit more as I didn't have to fight a 3 year old for the TV!
