Topic: Far Cry 5 - looking for advice driving planes

Hello,
So I think I've just come across something that may top my list of most frustrating gaming experiences ever. It's the flying mission in Far Cry 5 called 'Air Raid'. After hating everything to do with airplanes so far, I was almost enjoying the first part of the mission destroying convoys and helicopters but now it's just got ridiculous with the 'chosen' airplane. I can't even imagine there could be a strategy that might work as the thing just zips around me, firing off all the time. I spend most of my time trying to figure out which way up I am and where the damn thing is and the important point is...where is the fun? It's just plain tedious. I doubt I've hit it once and am about to abandon the mission as one of the most ridiculous things I've ever played. Is there a strategy at all? I'm lucky if I glimpse it once, never mind getting it in my crosshairs. I've died at least twice from inadvertently crashing into it because I had no idea where it was. Is anyone ever tried anything that works? I'm just wondering at this stage because I feel a rage-quit coming on...

Please disregard; I answered my own question. If experiencing this problem, get out of the ridiculous airplane and jump into a chopper so you're not flying and spinning like a maniac but actually have a degree of control. The game allowed me to do that...and it was much better.
