Topic: CE-34878-0 Error

Hey. Went to start watching Netflix yesterday and this error popped up. I've deleted and reinstalled the app but it doesn't work. Anybody have this same problem and know about any fixes? Thanks.

I believe it is a fundamental system issue. I've come across this with several people who have PS4s and most do not have an answer. First thing is to forget cloud saving, backup your saves onto your own HDD, and then back them up onto a thumbdrive. Then to a complete format of your PS4's HDD and do a complete firmware reinstall of the latest software available to you in your region. Somewhere along the line, your data in something got corrupted and is unsolvable as it is now. The only answer is to completely remove all data, and redownload everything, and do a systemic reinstall. Once all of that is done, re-copy your backed up data back onto your HDD, and hope that all of your game data works again. It should if you've done everything correctly. It's much the same on an old installation of Windows. Data gets corrupted and the only way to get things working again is to completely reinstall the OS and other applications. Take care to backup all of your old save data from games, and God willing, everything will work again. I hope this helps and doesn't seem too apocalyptic.

Had that today problem today on uncharted collection, I had to sign out of psn to play it

@Not-Another-Ad: Yes, I've seen this problem related to a number of issues from games not working to people not being able to simply watch Netflix as Cloudrunner above. Sony apparently has no answer to the problem, nor does anyone else apparently. A troubling trend I see around the internet is that no one seems to have an adventurous spirit enough to try different things out for themselves so all I can do is apply what I know about PCs and other tech I've been working with for years. Since it's obviously not a network issue, it seems to be a systemic issue that involves the PS4 at some deeper corner of it's core software. Since I can't answer a problem that apparently has no discernible cause, all I can suggest is to completely format the system and reinstall the OS from scratch after a complete wipe of all the software so that nothing remains after whatever corruption occurred within the OS itself.

I re downloaded the update and my Netflix problem went away. I'm pretty sure I wont see the last of this error though. I got my PS4 Christmas 2014. Wonder if this problem happens to the new consoles?

Ok. So was just doing doughnut Drake speedrun on Drake's fortune and the error popped up and now it says that my data has been corrupted. Wtf? I'm not happy at all.

On to the error message - Its seemingly a software issue - a problem with poorly optimized games, but I actually think the issue is some earlier ps4s had a poor yield inside the AMD chip due to the 28nm process - but were despatched anyway leading to games which have convoluted code getting the error message. A remaster by a 3rd party company would have loads of convoluted code suffice the ND collection breaking your PS4.

I saw someone play as doughnut Drake it was quite funny an inspiration to big people every where

I was Doughnut Drake to get the speedrun trophy before i start the next game. I thought i had fixed this problem before. Dyu know if sony will replace it?

Yeah. I'm out of warranty. Will cost £125 to get it fixed/replaced.

@cloudrunner64: Grim, the only positive is you can buy a 1tb model and your next ps4 wont get that error code.
