Topic: Your latest PS3 purchase

Been looking for a copy of Killer is Dead for aagggeeess and just picked one up for £30. Well happy… and that completes the list for the remaining PS3 games I’ll play before putting the old girl out to pasture.

In all probability I won’t end up playing these but you never know. Just picked up Lord of the Rings: War in the North, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and Driver: San Francisco.

So yet again I’ve gone against my previous statements that I would stop buying PS3 games:

Killzone Trilogy

It was a wallet-busting doozy too! £66.00… but the second hand price on eBay and CeX is far higher (at £125-£260). I’ve never played a Killzone and have always felt like I’ve missed the boat a little bit what with the servers having been closed etc. but I heard today that the HD remake of 1 at least is plat-able, so I thought what the hell! I’ll pick up the digital Killzone: Liberation too, next time I log in too.

F.E.A.R. 2 Reborn DLC

Doesn't really add much to the story aside from kind of bridging 2 and 3 together, but still chaotic and creepy fun. Performance is quite a bit worse than the base game, but it's still playable. A bit short at 1.5-2 hours, though.

Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 - for the collection more than anything (they didn’t have 3 unfortunately).

Great stuff and one of my favourite series.
Resistance 3 platinum should be obtainable assuming you have another controller.
Resistance 2 is great, shame that they took the crazy decision to remove the weapon wheel (what were they thinking?!). Loads of content even with the servers turned off and a great campaign.
Resistance 1 is also great and has a great story and I enjoyed the way it was told.
Fun fact. There is a patch for the game (I think it added rumble or some minor thing) and this was before developers starting to release unfinished games so the single player is (in their minds) as polished/fixed as it ever was going to be so to get the patch to download you need to start or attempt as it is now, multiplayer.
Fun fact 2. The church tried to sue Sony for replicating Manchester cathedral in the game.

@CaptD I remember fun fact 2 as it goes, sounds even more ridiculous now than it did then… and I thought it was stupid then tbh.
