@Yousef- yeah thats why i tend to buy a whole console bundle from facebook marketplace as generally people sell the console and the original controller that came with it along with everything else. I then sell or trade in everything else i dont want
@Malaise Would love to hear your thoughts on the campaigns as I've been on the fence of buying these games for a while now. Games like these tend to mostly be remembered for their multiplayer component, but as I've discovered by playing through the PS3/360 era CoD games, the campaigns for these shooters are just amazing. Wouldn't surprise me if the campaigns for MoH are great as well.
@Malaise Ah sorry, I just read your first sentence and got so excited to reply to you that I didn't read the rest of your post.
Sounds good mate! I've also become more interested in buying games from the PS3/360/Wii era lately as I really like that generation of games. I'm still trying to avoid buying games as much as I can, but maybe next year I'll start collecting for those consoles again if I can manage to clear out my backlog some more.
So in one fell-swoop I’ve contravened two resolutions… one: I’ve bought yet another ps3 game and two: it was Dragon Age 2!
As did most people, I found Dragon Age 2 a massive let down after Origins back when it originally released and was pretty ****ed about it, not gonna lie. But… with the release of The Veilguard, I’m thinking that I’m gonna play through the whole series (played Origins & 2 on an old profile but never played Inquisition nor this latest one obvs).
I was initially thinking that I’d just play Origins, Inquisition and The Veilguard but quickly realised that my OCD probably wouldn’t let me get away with that and so I checked out the price of 2. PS3 game prices are crazy right now, so I thought it best to act fast and… while the consensus price was around £25.00 (which is fair as things currently stand) I found one for a tenner. Not looking forward to that horrendous final boss fight again but… maybe I’ll enjoy the game a bit more this time 🤷♂️.
@colonelkilgore I actually enjoyed Dragon Age 2 when I played it on Xbox a couple of years back or so. It obviously didn't hurt that I was MANY years away from it's release, so my expectations weren't naturally high.
Since I do plan on playing the series all over again on PlayStation this time around and already have Origins, I'll likely pick up Dragon Age 2 as well at some point. I have a feeling both of us are years away from playing The Veilguard. Oh well, maybe it's a good thing they aren't doing any DLC this time around to add to the playtime.

@Bob_Salat nah I don’t think it’s sealed… maybe I should’ve held on til my weekly visit to CeX but it’s all good, feels like I spend a tenner by simply opening the front door these days 😅.
@KilloWertz I have a sneaky feeling that I’ll appreciate it a bit more this time tbh. And yeah… years (& years) away from The Veilguard but glad I ain’t the only one 😉
I haven't played it yet, but I got Battlefield Bad Company on the PS3, that's gonna be a good play at some point. I've heard many good things about it.
So I’ve bought another PS3 game 😬… though I still have no intention of achieving more than 50 ps3 plats. After stumbling upon a random review of it on YouTube, I just quite fancied it and could see myself slotting it in as one of the remaining 8 games that I’ll play on the system.
Wet - from 2009. A third person action game that involves something that I find is always a difficult balancing act for devs… namely blending shooting and melee. Not sure how well it plays but it looks pretty cool in terms of the art design and apparently wears its Tarantino-inspiration on it’s sleeve (predominantly Kill Bill vol #1 & #2), which I think I’ll appreciate.
So, not a definite that I’ll play it but a nice option that offers up something a bit different from most of the other games remaining in my as-yet unplayed PS3 backlog.
Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition - a touch pricey at £38 but this version apparently chops a good 20-30 hours off the platinum due to some pack-in dlc gear. Been looking for a copy for a while tbh… it’s pretty rare
@graymamba With all the discussion around Veilguard, Origins has been brought up a lot as the series peak. I tried it back on PS3 many moons ago and didn’t quite click with it. I was a different (less patient) gamer back then so I wonder if I would have a different experience now. I suspect so.
It’s too bad that it and DA2 appear to be locked on PS3, as far as PlayStation consoles go.

@Th3solution I did play and enjoy Origins back when it released… my recollection is very vague though. My memory of 2 is clearer… and was quite the disappointment unfortunately.
I’m gonna try and re-play Origins this year and 2 in 2026… and then depending on the backlog Inquisition and Veilguard sometime after that. Quite looking forward to Origins and Inquisition in particular.
@Th3solution I'd love it if EA bought them to PS4/5 like they did with the Mass Effect Trilogy, but seeing as Veilguard apparently sold poorly, I think EA will take that as the series not being popular enough anymore.
