Topic: The use of guides while trying to "platinum" games.

Hey everybody, I know there are a lot of people here who've earned (or unlocked) the platinum trophies for several games. I was just wondering whether you guys have used guides (or walkthroughs) while doing so or did it all on your own without taking help. I'm relatively new to the PS3 scene (closing in on a year now) so I would really appreciate it if some of the experienced gamers would take the time to share their views on this .

YouTube and ps3trophies.org are the two I use the most. I mainly use ps3trophies.org for hidden trophies, because I hate not knowing what a hidden trophy is.

That said I only have three platinum trophies. I don't play online much so I normally don't go after to many multiplayer trophies.

Ps3trophies.org is a good website for trophy help. I think first and foremost, you should play a game for fun. But a couple of tips on avoiding missable trophies are good sometimes. I mostly check it out once I've completed a game.

After I beat the game, whether I use a guide or not doesn't really affect me any more.

I usually check to see if theres any missable stuff to look out for since I dont really play through most games more then once.

Well, I guess I'm sort of on the same wavelength as you guys then. I've managed to get only two platinum trophies. And  both these times, I used guides once I had beaten the game and to look for stuff which missed my eye the first or second time around.

Ya, I try to just beat the game first and then if I enjoyed it I go back for more trophies.

If it involves finding/unlocking an item and I haven't done it yet or don't know how. I'll use a guide, it really depends on the game.
