Topic: Reinstalling PS3 software on a wiped drive

I had this error on my PS3 where it was installing an update and kept failing over and over again and kept giving an error message, I tried starting it up in safe mode multiple times but for some reason it was not working so I took out the hard drive connected it to my pc and ran it through a program to check if there was anything wrong with the hard drive, according to the program the hard drive was fine. So I proceeded to wipe the hard drive and reformatted it to fat 32 as this seemed like the only option downloaded the software files onto an external harddrive put it in the appropriate file names with all caps but I still cannot reinstall the software on my PS3 as the PS3 keeps saying it cannot detect anything on the hard drive what can I do
