Not if you bought a new one. If you were able to find one of the older non-slim models there's a chance it might (only some of those did, others didn't).
Best answer is no so either hang on to your PS2 or pick one up for a measly $30 or so lol.

If you got an early release like when they first came out than yes but now all the PS3 dont have the backwards compatibility (DAMN YOU SONY!!!!). You can probably find one used but I dont know how you can tell apart the ones with the PS2 backwards compatibility from those that do not without putting a PS2 disc in.
You best bet and probably the easiest is either hold onto a PS2 if you have one or pick one up if you dont or need a new one when you get your PS3.
