I remember most of my choices like the big ones and sometimes I stopped playing for a bit to think over the decision and potential consquences when it wasn't a timed interrupt sequence. I definitely got attached to certain characters but when I talk to my mates about the series they end up having different favorites which is really awesome.

I went with mainly biotics focused vanguard- it suited my playing style as I'm more of a get all up in the enemies face type player so using biotics to control and blast enemies and charge/ shotgun in close proximity. I am tempted to replay it again but I'm holding on hope for a remaster trilogy.

@dryrain: I went with an infiltrator. And yeah, I thought carefully about a lot of choices. All the tension and pressure made me think quicker at the very end though. the last mission was so intense because your squad can die after making you care about them.. I lost Thane and Jack. Thane was loyal and I was really surprised and wish I hadn't lost him. I didn't care about Jack though.

@Jaz007: I managed to keep all my squad surviving- I think the main thing that determined how many people survived was based on the defence of your team like the people who are defending the normandy and in the collector base. I put all the big guns back there and had Jack and Tali with me for the final mission. If I went with a different class may have chose differently but with my character build I knew I could pretty much take anyone on.

@TripleGK: @TripleGK: I lost Thane when you went through the collector swarm. I chose Miranda as my Biotic as Jack and the Asari weren't loyal. Maybe if I had chosen Jack only she would have died.

@Jaz007: I would probably have to play it again to find out. I just made sure everyone I had was loyal and their stats were upgraded to the near max that they could be. Did you upgrade everything on the Normandy as well? I think if you take someone with you in your three person squad that isn't loyal they would die. I just made sure all the defensive weak people were either escorts or with me in the squad as the survival is based on how strong the defence is.

Looking at how your experience of ME2 played out, I must be quite lucky with the result I ended up with.

P.S Jack is actually one of my favorites in the series (did the romance and loyalty mission- they were written out well) and her development in ME3 is just so surprising.

@tripleGK Jack and Tali and my favourite characters in the game. After failing miserably the first time on ME2 with my crew I used a game guide to work out the best combinations for the end mission. You were either lucky or skilled I will leave it for you to decide. I think The romance part of the game is handled well you have quite a few different choices and its not until fairly late on when you have to make your final decision. Its also good how you have to work at it its not just a given that you will end up with one character or another.

@dryrain: It's like you know my character tastes so well aha. My favorite characters of the series are Jack, Tali, Garrus, Grunt, Wrex, Kasumi and Samara. I think it was probably the mix of both as I tried to do every mission possible in the game with the side quests instead of focusing too much on getting the story done.

The romance part of the game made me spend ages deciding what choice to make especially when Tali came back when I was romancing Jack. That choice for me was so hard like potentially harder than the choices related to the story.

@tripleGK I made different romance choices in 2 and 3. That pissed off the character I romanced in 2. One of my many favourite moments in the game is when you romance Tali. The whole game you are wondering what she looks then...

I did so many side quests in the game as well. There were one or two I could not complete because the game was buggy but nothing that I really needed to do. Did you play the Citadel DLC for Mass effect 3? That was a great side story and as a mass effect fan what I wanted from a DLC

@dryrain: I was so mad when I found out that Bioware just never showed her face in a cutscene and instead just on a picture beside your bed. I haven't played ME3, but I just looked at since theirs no climax and like Tali and want her to be my romance in the game, but I really needed to know what she actually looked like. I'm glad she's hot, but Bioware still really copped out with it. Heck, they just photoshopped a models face on the internet. Here's a what I mean. (spoilers for obvious reasons)

@dryrain: I stayed loyal from 2 in 3- I can't go back on someone who had my back with the collectors when facing an even bigger threat.

I used the sidequests to mainly experiment with different squads- found it alot more fun than just sticking with the same three people.

I went and brought all the DLC for ME3- I was that hooked lol. The Citadel DLC was by far my favorite as I did it right before the final mission and it felt like a proper last hurrah! The side story was fun and the character interactions just made me so happy especially with the two Krogans bonding in their own way. There's so many great little moments but I'm not going to spoil.

The Omega DLC was also alot of fun- it was so action focused and it brought out the dormant Renegade in me and that led to some awesome moments.

As with the Tali thing it was badly done- like after the three games there should have been a proper cutscene reveal not a damn stock photo.

One of my absolutely favorite series.
LOVE Mass Effect, even got all novels and comics.

Have played through it many times, and ME2 is my fave.

Love the story, the lore......I can't get into Star Wars, but ME? Love it.
Always thought this would make a kick ass TV series.

Always play as a Sentinel; best combo of tech and biotic powers.
Always full Paragon, just can't play Renegade with these sort of games.
Also always Liara as love interest....

Best about this series? You actually see the characters GROW with each sequal.
Liara started out as a shy, nerdy archeologist and look where she is at the end of the trilogy.

I just can't pick a fave member; love em all.
While I really look forward to Andromeda, I will really, really miss my squadmates and crew.

(btw, one of the reasons I still have my Xbox 360; games play a lot better there then on the PS3...)

It boggles my mind that of all the games getting remastered that this series isn't one of them. I would buy it in a heart beat...

Not sure how much EA tend to do remasters of games. I think one of the things which may have influenced not doing a remaster is backward compatibility on the xbox. You have the market for PS4 then probably only a very small one for the xbox. I would have bought a remaster of the game but instead got it for PC and using some of the mods.

As Andromeda is a completely new story in the Mass Effect universe, its probably less likely to get a remaster. Its size as a trilogy, with all the potential outcomes etc, probably make it a very difficult and time consuming undertaking and I doubt they would just do 1. A trilogy on the same disc may not make financial sense.
If Andromeda was a continuation - like Uncharted 4 is going to be, then it may make sense to have a remastered trilogy and the decisions etc impacting in Adromeda, but as its supposed to be separate its not as relevant.
I really enjoyed the Trilogy and would be interested in a Remaster but doubt my decisions would have changed if I replayed it anyway.

A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...
