Currently I'm pondering about the button placement for SOCOM 4. Can any of you who have experience with the real sharpshooter give me any pointers or dos/dont's. As the "X" and the "O" are on the navi, the square, triangle and the move would have to accessible on pistolgrip.
It would be natural to have the "crouch" button under the thumb in the upper part of the left side of the grip. Maybe the "grenade/airstrike" button should go on the front outside of the trigger guard and the last button maybe to the right side, so it can be reached with index finger.
Here are images of current progress. These are the button placement tests. The Move(ADS)-button is now under the thumb, the Crouch under the triggerguard and the use-button on the other side for index finger. If these placements are good, the aim is to put them inside the shooting attachment, as it is hollow.
You sure put a lot of effort into it, but is it really worth to open a move controller to make a homemade sharpshooter? The sharpshooter itself is cheaper than a move controller...
Money is not the motivation behind this project. I do this mainly because I like tinkering, and I have the false belief in my skills that I can make the controller more suitable for my playstyle than the generic sharpshooter (I have a history of playing paintball for 10 years, so I prefer the paintball playing posture to the assaultrifle style of sharpshooter)
Well it's summer now, so I don't really have time for tinkering, but when the long and dark finnish winters starts to come, I'm back with more updates.
