Feels like I just heard about rumors that the game would be made, now the demo! Can't wait to see the improvements, especially playing on it with my new Wheel.
Agreed. Interviews on GTPlanet seem to indicate that the demo we are getting is a very very unfinished representation of GT6 though. I wouldn't be surprised if it was more similar to GT5 than GT6.

According to the interview, the sound effects will be very different. Kaz also made it sound like the AI will be improved from GT6 Demo to release.

Well usually the updates in racing games from one game to the next are not that noticable except the developer goes from sim to arcade or they make a generation jump, I mean don't get me wrong, sure there will be improvements but at the end of the day it's still cars racing on a track for pole position. Same like Fifa games. That said I'm a huge racing game fan and turned away from the acclaimed Forza franchise because they took the easy route in the last 2 games, casualized too much and dropped the motorsport aspects more and more. So im especially curious about the feel of Gran Turismo 6.
AND I predict Gran Turismo 6 game of the year HD+ edition for NEXT holiday season for PS4, including all DLC and updates. So if its good I'll still wait and get it for PS4 next year!

Coming from years of Forza I want to share my insight (note that I don't like Forza too much anymore as it has gone too far away from the motorsport aspect for my taste and became more of a social-racing-fun-paintyourcar-thing).
- graphically I think they are on par, with GT6Demo having slightly better anti-aliasing and more natural colors - environments look better on Forza, i.e. People in the stands, announcers - engine sounds (i know its a Demo) so far are way better in Forza - the most important thing, CAR-feel: I think it's hands down better in GT. Better feel of weight and tire-slip, grip out of corners, I love it so far, for a console racer - played with my dualshock - it's awesome. Love it. - game modes and "race-event"-feeling, so far looks to be better in GT
That said I'll definitely pick GT6 up, but only for PS4 and well after the PS3 release - to give them a chance to further polish and iron out any bugs or hiccups.

I don't know about engine sounds in GT5, I'm just judging the demo of GT6, knowingly that it is a demo. Ive been playing Forza 1-4 and the engine sounds, especially in the later games, have been one of the few things they did absolutely right, I don't know when I check out a GTR or a 370Z on youtube and then watch/play GT6 demo and Forza, Forza is like a 90% match! It's just opinion though and trust me, there's plenty of stuff in Forza which isn't that great.
