This is a copy of post i started in the PS4 sections but as it includes both systems thought i'd post it here aswell.

So here's my issue? and please bear with me as i'm very very frustrated right now after just getting off the phone with Playstation support.

I've had the standard PS4 connected to the PSVR processor unit since VR launch day without any issues, except the drift problem, but that's for another time.

I got the PS4 Pro on launch day, got it home, upgraded the hard drive to a 2Tb, connected everything up going through the PSVR processor unit, installed the operating system from a usb drive, updated the firmware to the latest available and then started downloaded all my content from the PS store, which i left overnight to finish off. All good.

The following day I started messing around trying out a couple of games and was impressed with what I was playing, great improvements in graphics in both Pro patched and vr patched content, very happy. When i'd finished trying stuff out, I made sure all applications were closed before putting the console into rest mode, like i always have done with the standard PS4.

I have now timed this so i can put timings to it for you all for your help.
The next day, i pressed the PS button on the controller to wake the Pro up and was met with nothing but a black screen on my TV for 25 seconds at which point I got audio only through the TV speakers for 2 seconds then silence again. After 50 seconds i got the same audio only for another 2 seconds and again silence. After 1min 5 sec, I got both video and audio on the TV and all seems to be fine, although I have had random video signal loss for about 3 secs at random intervals. this now happens every time I turn the Pro on??

This all happens without the PSVR headset connected to the PU, passing a 4K non HDR signal from the pro to a Sony 55X8505B TV and the PU connected to HDMI 1. Also when using VR games i am getting random sound loss through the supplied earbuds that came with the PSVR.

Playstation support have been zero help. I have spoken to 5 different people now who have all told me the PSVR PU IS NOT able to pass a 4K signal, only 1080p, even though I have told them my TV is showing it is getting a 4K signal and also pointing them to the PSVR FAQ https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2016/10/03/playstation-vr-the... which clearly states the PU is able to pass a 4K non HDR signal in YUV420 at 60hz???????

Could any one who has the Pro and PSVR systems and is using a 4K NON HDR signal please try this out for me and see what sort of wake times you get. I would say the standard PS4 used to wake in no more than 20 secs.

Look forward to your replies and thanks in advance, Chadders.

Sorry to hear about your problems - the fault seems pretty technical. , Not sure there is anyone here who will be able to help. Appreciate this isn't a very helpful post - Hope you get it sorted though..!

Whilst the PU may be able to pass through 4k, It may require an upgraded (High speed) HDMI - like the one supplied with the PS4 Pro. I assume, as I don't have PSVR, that the HDMI supplied with the Pro plugs into the PU and you would need a HDMI from the PU to the TV. If the HDMI from the PU to the TV is a standard HDMI, it may not have the bandwidth for 4k.

A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

Thanks for the comments guys.

What i'm really looking for is someone/people who have both the PS4 Pro and PSVR to try and wake the Pro for rest mode when it's connected to the VR PU, passing a 4K signal to the TV and to TIME how long it takes to get both a picture and sound coming from the TV and for the system to be usable. This is all WITHOUT the VR headset connected to the PU.

If any of you could do this and post your timings here, that would be great.

As my og post shows, it take just over a minute for me to get both the picture and sound through to my TV, this is after i get sound stutter and video strobing.

I look forward to seeing if my timings are normal or if i have a problem somewhere in my set up. I just something to compare my times to, thanks Chadders.
