Topic: Video Ads Causing Problems

Sorry to bother you guys and I know that to pay for the site you need the ads however the past week or so the video ads have caused tremendous slowdown on with my browser. I am using the browser that is standard with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and whenever I visit this site it just brings my browser to a halt. Major slowdown in loading pages, sometimes complete freezes and I have to close out the browser and load it back up. I know it has to be the site here cause every other site I go to runs fine. I don't want to use ad block since again I want to support this site but if having the video ads causes this big of a problem for me then I might have to just to be here. Is there a way we can not use video ads? If there is something I can do on my end I am all for it and will gladly try any suggestions.

Hey guys, we need specific examples of the adverts in question, otherwise we can't report them. Can you give some examples / screenshots etc? thanks!

I've just had an update from our advertising partner - they are aware of this issue and it's related to some changes last week - they're working on suppressing these and should see a change soon (hopefully in the next few days).

@antdickens Sorry for the late reply as I was in dreamland. For examples, I know the ads are reflected by a users internet habits, so I had ads from Walmart, Frys Electronics, New Egg and a few others that I can't remember, but it didn't matter what add it was whenever I come here the site would do exactly what @ZurapiiYohane said. Page loading would slow to a crawl, scrolling up and down through the article heck even typing comments would take forever as it would freeze at times while I was typing. It seemed like it didn't matter the ad only that it was a video ad.

Good news is as I type this now everything seems to be working fine again so if I have anymore problems, I will let you know. I hope that helps.
