Topic: Can't post new topics? Please read this!

So I'm sure all of you have noticed the crazy spambot attacks here at Push Square, right? Right. Unfortunately, Ant is currently on a well-deserved vacation, so me and Sammy are kinda doing what we can without the use of the magic problem-solving wand Ant always has in his back pocket for situations like these.

What we've (well, I've — if it all goes to crap, blame me!) done is removed topic posting privileges from the default user group: you guys. Hopefully this should confound the spammers for long enough for us to deal with them before they post anything, and if they switch tactics, we'll make it so that you'll have to e-mail via Contact Form if you'd like your forum use privs restored entirely. We may try to go down the line later with some of you we know for a fact are not spambots, but no promises, and please don't hate us for not having you in the Verified group automatically — there's no option for that as far as I saw, and there's thousands of user accounts to wallow through to pick you all out from individually D:

LONG STORY SHORT: Please leave a comment on this topic if you'd like to be among the chosen few still allowed to post topics here at the Push Square forums (and also to be able to post at all if we have to take more drastic measures later!) We'll get to you as soon as we can. If anything changes, we'll post it here in the Announcements section for you all.

I'd love to be able to post new topics in the forum. I have rarely posted any new ones at all, though, but mostly answered to others. So I'd at least would like to keep the latter ability.

I can totally see why you had to take those steps for the time being...those spam bots were really going at it.

Hope you find a good solution to deal with that.
