I have a peculiar problem with my PS4 and the wired connection, which has been doing my head in for weeks, so I thought I'd create a post on here to see if anyone has any ideas on how to solve it.

When I use my PS4 in the living room via a powerline adaptor I get a solid 30 - 34 Mb download speed.
When I use my PS4 in either of the bedrooms, using the same powerline adaptor and network cable I get a fluctuating download speed, sometimes I get 30+ Mb,
but mostly it it between 10 - 15 Mb download speed. Sometimes, it won't connect to the wired network at all, yet when this happens, and I plug my laptop
into the ethernet cable it has a 30Mb plus download speed.

I've tried changing the powerline adaptor and the ethernet cable, rebooting the router - same result, the download speed is a lot slower in the bedrooms.

Has anyone any idea why this is happening, and how I can get a solid 30+ Mb download speed in both of my bedrooms?

Is it possible the connection source in the bedrooms are faulty and it's causing a communication error with your PS4?

@lolwhatno No, it's definitely connected by the ethernet cable.

@KitsuneKaos Thanks for your reply.
I did test the electrical sockets in the bedrooms, and they are absolutely fine.
The same connection gives a solid 30+Mb connection on the laptop.
It's weird. However, ever since I posted this thread on here the PS4 has been behaving itself.
