Topic: New PSPlus Subscription Won't Work

Hi,

I bought my son a PSPlus subscription, but cannot get it to work for the life of me. When I go into Settings, it says "These users (my son's ID) cannot use this application due to parental controls." But I've set all the settings I can to allow for it. I've even tried temporarily disabling all restrictions and that hasn't made a difference.

Anyone ever have a similar issue?

@clowncarparade PS+ doesn't require and application, are you perhaps confusing PS+ with PSNow?

I don't think I'm confusing the two? Perhaps I didn't explain it clearly. PS+ allows for multiplayer online gaming right? He's still not able to do that. For example, when he gets invited to play NBA 2K20, he needs to go into MyCareer mode, which he's not able to do. He gets a similar error message, saying he doesn't have access due to parental control. And it appears it's stemming from somewhere within the PS Settings, which I've spent the better part of the past couple days digging through, but can't find anywhere that would cause the problem. But obviously I'm missing something.

@clowncarparade emm that sounds like it could be a issue with the parental controls, it's possible that your sons account might not be allowed to use certain things because of what age it is set too

is your sons account a child's one or a adults one?

@FullbringIchigo It's a child's account. When I go into Family Managament/Age Level for Games, I've selected Level 6/Age 13. Although, the game he's trying to play is rated E for Everyone anyway.

Wonder if his birthday has anything to do with it? He's only 11.

@clowncarparade yeah i think that might be the issue, your best bet is to try and contact PlayStation support and see if they can fix it for you

you should be able to find the info on how to do that on the official PlayStation website

@FullbringIchigo That's the problem, all their support is down. I've been scouring their site and more, can't find anything that addresses this.

@clowncarparade yeah i guess it would be right now wouldn't it given the current situation, may i ask what the error number is, for example it might be something like "EFEAB30C"
