I just received a new PlayStation 4. Opened it up, hooked it up, and Everytime I press the button it beeps 3 times. No lights. Won't start. I tried a different power cord, different HDMI cord, tried different outlet. Can't get it to start. A new system and now I have to send it in for repair. Can you believe it? Maybe I should have gotten an Xbox.
When you say 'press the button 3 times' are you referring to the one on the console itself?
Have you tried booting it by pressing the PS button on the controller, cos I'm pretty sure thats how you are supposed to start up officially?
Excuse me if this comes across as obvious, but I am assuming you are new to PS4 and may not have done this
What? What a strange thing to say. The official way is not to press the PS button on the controller, that is just one way and would probably require the pad to be wired in the first place if not synced to the machine. The 'power' button is there for a reason, some might say that it is the official way to 'power' on the machine, it is also the button Sony refers to when they ask you to power on the machine using the so called 'power' button.
Anyway Ares33, if new just return straight to the store for a swap or refund. I would not accept a repair on a console you just got.
