Topic: HDMI Audio Splitter

Has anyone found one of these that actually works? Tried a few now and only get stereo output or nothing. Tried playing with the HDMI audio settings and makes zero difference.

Starting to wish I’d stuck with PS4 now, 3D Blu-ray worked, optical output worked. As a movie fan it’s really not a good option

Yeah, tried four now. The audio goes through optical but only in stereo. Driving me mad. Going to end up buying a PS4 again as a media player at this rate.

FWIW I have the ps5 setup to use the eARC channel for audio, which basically means that the whole signal goes through the TV, then the audio is routed back the amplifier. This is useful so that your amp doesn’t need to support high-bandwidth signals for higher resolution, for example. It also means that whatever the TV is showing is definitely what the amp is playing.

Interesting, I thought eArc had to go to the amplifier first. I’ll give it a try, thanks
