Topic: Digital game download corrupted

I have recently tried to re-download borderlands 3 and modern warfare. Borderlands 3 gets half way done and then tells me: “cannot download” when I check the error is says data corrupted. For modern warfare, everything downloads except for both campaign packs and the special ops packs. The error for that is the same one I get with borderlands 3. I tried all the troubleshooting like deleting and re downloading, rebuilding the database, even initializing the PS4 and wiping in clean to a factory reset. That still didn’t work. I tried downloading other games and they did just fine. It’s only the two games I mentioned above. I recently had a double lung transplant and now with the covid pandemic I didn’t have much choice except to buy a new PS4. Today I got the new PS4 in the mail and the games still won’t download! I tried calling PlayStation and no is taking calls at this time. Please help me...

@Southpaw65 Sorry to hear you've hit so many brick walls with this.

Problem is, if you've gone through all those steps, then I'm really at a loss here. It sounds like a problem with the data you're downloading from PSN itself. We know that Sony have reduced speeds and downgraded other PSN features temporarily, to reduce strain during the pandemic. As silly as this might sound, it could be connected with that, perhaps?

It's a shame Sony Support isn't taking calls, right when everybody needs them because they're at home playing their PlayStations, but they gotta protect their workforce same as everybody. I reckon you're gonna have to wait until they're open again.

At least you mentioned being able to download other games, so you've got other things you can play whilst staying safe at home, right?

I've got this problem too. Disc games work fine but I just bought DMC5 on the PS Store and it will not work. I get to the cinematic and it has no sound and then stops working. Data corrupted error.
Tried everything to fix it including reinstalling the database. Nothing.
Any ideas for a fix or us it just a case of trying to break down the wall of Sony Customer Service?

Same thing happened to me about two weeks ago when this pandemic started and wanted to play ps4 again. I downloaded 2k20 from PS Store. Gets to about 56% on the copy game part of the download and tells me data is corrupt. I’ve done absolutely everything that you listed above. I even connected external hard drive and downloaded the game to that and the same thing is happening. I haven’t tried in about 10 days because I was so frustrated with it. I have found no answer at all. If you do please let me know.

Yeah it’s so frustrating. I finally got borderlands to re download but call of duty still won’t. I paid 300 dollars for a new system for no reason. And I paid for both of these games and can only play one of them. It must have something to do with this pandemic. Because no one is monitoring the servers maybe? That might sound really stupid but who knows

Oh yeah for sure I don’t want anyone to get sick. I completely understand. I’m extremely high risk I just had a double lung transplant a few months ago so I can see why they need to protect their workers. Good thing they are. It HAS to be the servers are just overload and do the downgraded speeds.

You thinking plugging it in with Ethernet and not using WiFi would help? Only thing I haven’t tried. Have you?

@Southpaw65 what helps me is Configure your network settings to use the IP addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as your DNS servers.
