@Genrou To be fair, I didnt suggest it personally, it was a quote from someone who had the most thumbs up from a quick google I did on the very issue the OP has requested help on.
My honest opinion would be it needs repairing, but seeing as that's not an option I guess alternative "creative" methods might be necessary.
Still, i'm going to lie, there have been times in the past where i've given an electronic device a light tap and it has helped. I'm not suggesting it's the best process, or the most scientific, but sometimes it's as simple as something like dust getting wedged in a circuit.
