The summer heat will supposedly ease a little this weekend, which means playing games should be more comfortable – at least if you’re in the UK. These are the titles keeping us busy.

Just like last weekend's WAYP 641, I'm still addicted to the 2011 PS3 port of Daytona USA. SEGA AM2's mastery of arcade driving design is so evident that it's no wonder Daytona USA's considered such a racing classic.

I've got a few review assignments in the hopper, so I'm going to continue chipping away at those. Hopefully I should be able to get at least one written up this weekend.

I'm tempted to go for all the gold medals in Denshattack, which I've thoroughly enjoyed playing lately. Apart from that I'm at something of a loose end for once; I might hop back into Vampire Crawlers following its recent update.
That's everything we're playing this weekend, then, but what about you? As always, let us know your gaming itinerary in the comments section below.

I will be playing Cyberpunk 2077! After 4 and a half hours I am on Act 2 and the game is really phenomenal! Also it plays like a dream on the Switch 2!
I am also starting Disciples Liberation I am a HUGE Disciples fan and although I dislike the unit design choices for the reboot I will go trough it all
Lastly on the side I am playing Pokemon Emerald.
Have a nice gaming weekend and screw Sony!
Still roaming the seas in AC Black Flag Resynced and loving every moment of it. The mix of story missions, building your settlement and fleet, hunting, harpooning, exploring, looking for lost treasure or just cruising in your ship singing shanties is just so good imo.
I also need to get Moss - The Forgotten Relic. I've played the VR version which I loved and the game is probably better on PSVR2 but still, its a really good game thats gotten very good reviews on the flat version so I'm playing that one too. But maybe after I'm done pirating.
Have a great weekend!
I sold my Steam Deck OLED and used the cash to put towards a ROG XBOX ALLY X ( as it has Steam too ) and its a fantastic piece of kit. Playing World of Warcraft on it with a controller mod is amazing. With console controls its very immersive and an absolute breath of fresh air. I can see myself getting addicted to WoW on it. Help ....! Its basically a very powerful handheld PC and playing Forza Horizon 6 on it and STALKER 2 on Ultra settings is outstanding.
Otherwise more AC Black Flag on PS5 Pro and trying to ace the First Light Tac Sim missions
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
Happy weekend everyone!
In the morning;
Then bbq in the afternoon.
Enjoy the weekend!
Finished FF16 and Pragmata this week.
FF16 main question was pretty good. Sidequests were mind numbing. 7/10
Pragmata was pretty short but brilliant. 9/10
Today I'll start Broken Sword reforged or KCD (ps5 version).
Today I'll celebrate my youngest his birthday and watch England vs France!
Have a great weekend!
Replaying Doom the Dark Ages. Great game. A shame that the disc only has 75mb on it, but it’s a great game regardless.
Im about 2/3s the way through Kena Bridge of Spirits. Enjoying it but wasn't expecting some of the difficulty spikes.
I might also try and hop on Black Ops 1 for a few rounds of multilayer.
Enjoy the weekend all
I'll be continuing my first playthrough of Bioshock Infinite. I am enjoying it immensely and I cannot wait to get to the highly regarded DLC.
I shall finally be focusing on Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. I'm liking what I've played so far.
I just bought AC Black Flag Resynced and it looks glorious on my ps5 pro.Loved playing it years ago when the original game came out so now I’m looking forward to dive in this world again.
I'm obsessed with Resident Evil 4 remake at the moment. It might be in my top 3 games of all time.
My wife found an old Wii Guitar Hero controller in a thrift store for £1. I've been setting up Clone Hero with it for the last few days. 1500 songs from every Guitar Hero and Rock Band game in existence. It's brilliant.
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. It's been a while since I've played any games except for a bit of Mario Kart World. Hoping to get back on the Inazuma Eleven Victory Road this weekend. Happy gaming time everyone.
This evening I shall be playing some Destiny 2 with the boys.
Before then I think some Resident Evil 3 Remake and some Granblue Fantasy Relink endgame.
I'm also trying to build up the arsedness to get some boring admin stuff done for a project that needs doing before i get to the meat and potatoes of it!
AC Black Flag mostly for me not done much gaming this week due to the weather. Might also get some Battlefield 6 later and I'm tempted to buy Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined on Switch played the demo last night and really want to continue playing.
I'm at the last chapter of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Should hopefully finish it either this weekend or next week.
The recent 1.4 update has turned Civ VII into the more 'Civ 6.5' (or should that be VI.V?) experience everyone expected at launch, and it's proper got its hooks into me again. So I'll be playing more of that, even though it's getting in the way of all the great stuff still in my backlog. But we all have our time-sink comfort games... right?
Have a great weekend all.
I'm about half way through Wuchang Fallen Feathers and loving it tbh!
The combat and level design are top notch, really fun and challenging souls-like with a very interconnected map
Boardgames and TTRPG!
I will try to keep grinding in Hades 2 too.
Probably some fighting games if I catch a friend or two online ^^
Doom Dark Ages on ASUS ROG XBOX ALLY (White) and it’s awesome! Can’t believe such a low spec’s device can deliver! I loved Doom 2016 on PS4 and Eternal on PS5 and for anyone yet to dip their toes, Dark Ages is the first to play 👍🏻
I have set myself the challenge of completing (not platinuming) 35 games in 12 months; a list built with a Chatgpt algorithm i have been fiddling with over the last few weeks
Final Fantasy 16 is done. Now on to Spiderman 1 Remaster 👍
I’ve booked next week off work so I’ll be playing Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and it’s also the perfect time to crack on with the Crimson Desert main story. I’ve put about 85 hours into it but keep getting distracted by all the side content.
If for whatever reason I finish both of those I’ll be starting Darkwood. I know it’s supposed to be really good and I look forward to playing it but the difficulty intimidates me 😂
I’ve been working on wrapping up both Mouse PI and starting the excellent Luna Abyss. Beyond those two it’ll be the occasional round in Black Jacket and most likely getting back to Legacy of the Dark Knight if I can.
Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend all!
Tears of the Kingdom: I've spent more time in the Depths than on the surface or in the sky, having mapped roughly three-fourths of it. I'm making progress on hearts and stamina (12 and 2.5 wheels) and have weapons all 60+ so I'm finally ready to tackle the Rito Village quest line. Having loads of fun and will be sorry when it's over.
@old_gamer74 Nice - my target is 30 in 2026, but I'm stuck on 12 right now due to my comfort games (see my earlier post, Balatro is the other key offender) - I wish you luck!
Finished:
The hours of playing time in the save data showed 3 hours but i felt like i played more than 4-6 hours. Anyway, ZoE probably one if not the best mecha games with great soundtrack that i ever played. Kiss Me Sunlights and Beyond the Bounds are just top notch 😘 . Really reccomend this series for anyone who loves mecha.
Playing:
This weekend i'm gonna replay Muramasa Rebirth and Infamous 2. It's weird that i've beaten Infamous 2 but don't remember the game has custom missions.
As for anime, i'm adding another one to my watching list: Orb: On the Movement of the Earth. I'm at episode 3 and so far i have a great time with this anime.
Have a nice weekend everyone 🍻
@Marquez Balatro will do that to you!! Good luck with your challenge too 👍
I have recently got addicted to Slay the Spire so most of my time is invested into that game. Happy Gaming All
I'm getting it done early this weekend instead of Sunday night like the past couple of weeks, so here goes.
It will probably come as a shock (not really) but Palworld again this weekend. The latest update brought me back to the game in a big way. It's packed full of new content and it's been a lot of fun to start again with nothing. That struggle is a big part of why I play survival games, few other genres really make you earn the basics which makes them a little niche too. As with every playthrough I immediately focus on base-building. All I had was an axe, a lot of trees and a crude sketch of what I'd planned to build drawn on a sketchpad. The foundation went down first and the rest followed.
The build like all builds started to really come into it's own with every new material/resource I found or unlocked. The raids started fast and I was hit with everything from ponies to the oh so deadly Relaxasaurus, don't let the name fool you he can wipe a base if he gets in there and starts stomping around. The Relaxs stormed the beaches with superior numbers but we were ready with superior fire-power. Those are machine gun nests, I'm working on missile defense.
It's been adventure after adventure and I've lost count of how many times I set off to farm a certain material or to capture a certain Pal and then got side-tracked for hours, and come away with so much loot and new Pals. The goal at the moment is to properly furnish my new home, I started in the bedroom and I'm working my way down each of the five floors. It's one of what will be many bases. Soon I'll start to work on one for mining ore, perhaps a farm for crops too. then there's the matter of unlocking the rest of the technology tree, dungeons, the story and capturing the other two-hundred Pals who are running around out there. Or breeding Pals, combining Pals to make even stronger Pals, tweaking traits, basically going endgame. That's about it, happy gaming weekend Folks.
@Ravix You'll appreciate this. He tasked me with finding that and giving it to him. I searched everywhere and couldn't find one to give.
I'll be on pba pro bowling 26 decent fun game to relax and play.
I'll probably dip a toe back into resident evil requiem aswell happy weekend folks 💪
I will continued playing the instant classic the excellent nine sols.i will also continued playing fan favorite the incredible 13 sentinels. I will also continued playing one of the best platforms ever the amazing psy 2.i will also be continued playing one of the best video games ever made in the phenomenal little nightmares 2.i will continued watching the awsome final destination bloodlines. I will watch the world cup.i will watch legendary sitcoms TV 📺 comedy shows in family matters.good times.the Jeffersons.sanford and son.different strokes.martin.the wayans brothers.married with children.and saved by the bell.word up son
I plan to continue my super punishing playthrough of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2! It's fun, but I really needed to look up guides because it's so damn difficult! But I'm trying to push through; Henry wants to t*p Hans, and I'm about to make that happen one way or another 💀
I work weekends but I may dip in to some more Black Flag Resynced tonight for a couple of hours.
@Marquez You mentioned the game recently too and I was really close to reinstalling. I haven't played it since launch day. I started around nine in the AM and it was deleted by about midday. I'd played so much Civilization 6 and every DLC, over and over again conquering the entire planet and each playthrough was fun and challenging. Especially the Eco DLC since it loves to crash on console. I only ran into one or two bugs in the new one but the whole game felt so barren. Also the forced switch really didn't feel like something I wanted to embrace. There was a lack of Leaders too. I think I might have to move it up the list (there is no actual list) I'd love to see the game redeem itself. I was so excited for the game that I even watched the Developer streams but didn't realize they were talking about the future of the game not the current release build. I probably wasn't being realistic in my expectations and I doubt Civilization 6 launched complete either. It sounds like you are really enjoying it and to call it a comfort game is definitely high praise.
After weeks and weeks of starting new games and bouncing off them, I think I may have found my gaming salvation in Sword of the Sea.
Not sure why I waited this long to play it - for anyone who has this in their backlog, bring it to the top of the pile, it's great
I bought a Steamdeck last week and after a few years of activating games on EGS and Amazon despite not owning a PC I’ve installed a bunch of games through the Heroic Launcher.
Currently playing through Arranger and planning on starting Telltale’s Batman soon.
@IronCrow86
Spoiler alert!
I’m just now starting AC:Shadows on base PS5. I selected the balanced graphics mode. I may try the other modes and see which one I like best.
Mandragora whispers of the witch tree. Absolutely stunning metroidvania/souls type game and it's got a hold of me. The usual marathon session this evening and the obligatory rally stint as well. Its a bit cooler so I might get out the psvr2 and hit up GT7. Have a great weekend folks 👍
@GirlVersusGame It's so different to launch - not least the expanded roster of leaders and civs, but also the new ability to carry your civ through all three ages and not switch. Personally I quite like switching as long as there's some historical context. They've also reworked victory conditions to make it clearer what your goal is and how to get there - not much of a game changer for veterans like me who've been playing since Civ IV, but much more friendly for newcomers to the series. Definitely move it up your list, let me know what you think when you give it another go.
Still playing Stardew Valley, so much content, so much to do even after 100 hours played.
@get2sammyb They finally fixed the glitch with physical games not showing hours played in Profile
Still on my Karlach playthrough in the incredible BG3. Choosing sarcastic responses as I feel it fits her persona. Game is such a joy to play. So yeah mainly that.
AC Black Flag Resynced for me
@GirlVersusGame so you genuinely couldn't give a fuack? That really is such a shame *giggles childishly
Your base is looking top fuacking notch, at least!
Can other players try to invade or is it offline pals only? And how much time is spent petting vs building, mining and fighting, i'd hope it is at least 50% of the time dedicated to petting!
Gothic Remake
I'm in the 3rd semester of Persona 5 Royal. On the home straight after a whopping 170 hours!
Forced to visit my wife’s friend this weekend, but brought the portal and will stream broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars: Reforged. Haven’t played it since PS1 original.
Crimson Desert... of COURSE! I don't even have a farm set up. Story getting a bit difficult for my level at Chapter 9, so I'm finally starting to do some of the "other activities" (of which there are thousands) in the game.
Helping my nephew and his wife get moved this morning. Had to say goodbye to our 15 year old dog yesterday. That sucked.
When I get some time, I'll be moving between Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster, Raidou Remastered, and Resident Evil 2 (1998) Leon B - I haven't played that scenario in years.
Have a great weekend everybody.
@IntrepidWombat sorry to hear that, take it easy
Assassins Creed Black Flag for me this weekend. I’m enjoying my time with Edward and the open waters; which is effectively my holiday for this year. 😂
Finishing off the collectibles in First Light then I am going to Reanimal a try!
Happy gaming folks
@IntrepidWombat I'm so sorry Know that your dog knew it was loved.
@Ravix I almost didn't get the screenshot I was laughing at the same time, I hadn't seen it before. Such is the way of sub missions.
Other players can invade and there's PVP if you play on a multiplayer server but you can host your own solo world too and not have to worry about player raids. Invites are done through a code system and every setting you can think of can be tweaked (at all times)
The game itself will raid you with human enemies, the Pals get stronger but it's easy enough to stay on-top of and as your base grows you get to add more Pals to work/defend it. Even if I didn't have those guns once a raid started my Pals would stop what they are doing and fight. One of them is as big as a London bus, he alone could probably turn them to dust. He's a boss Pal, you can capture those too, even humans. Humans are harder but if you manage to capture a merchant he'll stay in your base and open a store.
Resources are easier than any other game I've played. This man Bushi for example, if I'm out and want lumber I just summon him and he starts slicing (you can have five in your party and summon whichever you need at the time, good for elements like fire/water/mining/flying/etc) The second one Digtoise will make short work of ore nodes by spinning around, both of them do their thing and I just drink tea or reply to your post, then when they are done grab the materials.
Thank you it's taken some hours. That one base has an iron, coal, sulfur, tree farm. Once placed the ore are infinite and you no longer have to worry about it. I need to craft some antidepressants though, it's possible to overwork them. Moods are easy to manage, good food, hot-tubs, some pettings, a little murder, their needs aren't much. There's also a placeable for dungeons. Called the expedition center, once down you can use it to send x100 Pals into a dungeon and then come back and collect all of the loot. They get experience too and even if you are away from your base they'll all keep working.
I think the Developers understand that not everyone likes spending their time punching trees and kicking rocks, it's a balance of adventure and forced labor. This current base will probably be my home/farm for food. I'm growing berries, wheat, tomatoes, lettuces, potatoes, onions, hopefully carrots next. The Pals plant, water, harvest and sort it all, they cook too. Technically I don't even have to sort my loot, just drop it on the floor and one of them will come grab the items and put them in each container. I've moved onto shipping containers, there's that much.
It's a really easy game to pick up, but very hard to put down. My Partner was standing behind me for I don't know how long a couple of nights ago trying to get my attention but not wanting to jumpscare me either so he waited, and waited, and waited until my concentration finally broke, I wasn't even fighting a boss, just decorating.
Another goal for the weekend is to catch an Anubis he's amazing for crafting. Oh and you can build factories for even more items/gear. I tried to catch that Anubis but he was twenty-five levels higher and he hit me so hard I died in one shot. Then walked away. I think I'll aim to craft a gattling gun or flame thrower. He's really strong.
Apparently, after making it to Act III in Baldur's Gate 3 I've somehow racked up hundreds of hours in the game without finishing it even once! This time, I'm in the Rivington area getting trolled by Orin.
I keep finding new things and are combing my way through the areas, so I am getting the most out of this stellar game.
This playthrough I managed to recruit Minthara (who is wonderful by the way), so the camp is chock-full and I'm trying to get as many of my characters fielded, especially when a quest pertains to them.
Hoping to get Max Payne 3 finished off this weekend then moving on to Spec Ops or Metal Gear rising. I'm going through a PS3 phase, missed out on it back in the day with going with 360. Still have Doom DLC I need to get too but I want another run if the main game before
I’m switching between Black Flag Resynce and Death Stranding 2 this weekend.
Playing through Final Fantasy 16. Not quite sure how I feel about this one. It's very linear which I don't mind, but when you couple that with extremely limited build options, equipment and party abilities it feels very much on rails and very restrictive overall. I'm hoping it's going to open up a bit more because the story is pretty good and that's what's keeping me going at the moment.
Rhythm Heaven Groove for sure. It’s just such a relaxing, fun, casual game that eats up a little bit of free time.
Thinking I may finish Solateria this weekend. The game is a really fun Metroidvania that takes a lot of inspiration from Nine Sols.
I also want to continue running a cat themed shipping store in Cat Mail Co.
電車アタック!! (denshaattack)
@Xodan Glad they fixed it! Thanks for the heads up!
Dragon Warrior (NES) - I've acquired a large shield, now I'm in need of a ring and I'll find it in some cave.
Rayman Jungle Run (Windows Phone) - I just started this and I can already tell I'm going to have a blast!
Hexic (Windows Phone) - My daily go to while XP grinding in DW.
Also my wife has been enjoying The Sopranos so much she ordered Season Two on VHS from eBay I've created a monster lol
Belive it or not I've spent alot time playing Digimon Up on mobile (sacrilegious but I'm a Digimon fan) it's entertaining for what it is.
Back on PS5 I went and re-downloaded Foamstars and looked for a match and I found a few! But only on the Japan server 😅 Game is still fun. I've also picked up the FF6 Pixel Remaster and playing thst here and there.
Aside from the big game on Sunday thats it.
Happy gaming folks!
Not going to have much time to play this weekend but what time I have will be spent playing DOOM: The Dark Ages - Revelation DLC. Hope everyone has a great time with whatever they’re playing and ….. no rage quitting! 😉
Gotta jump back on Expedition 33, haven’t been playing it as much as I want to. I’ll throw in WWE 2K26 and Fatal Fury COTW.
Racing weekend. Got my 360 cleaned up and going through some racing gems this weekend, started with Ridge Racer: Unbounded last night, TDU2 today and Sunday is NFS: Most Wanted both '06 and 2012.
I’m playing Granblue Fantasy ReLink Endless Ragnarok. I’m just starting out so I haven’t reached the new DLC but it’s all new to me! Also might get some Palworld in. That’s also new to me so I’m still early on but it’s fun! Then my family and I are going camping in some cabins we rented. Need to take a ferry to get there so the kids are very excited haha
Finished the absolute love letter to PlayStation that is Astros playroom trophies last night (utterly magnificent in every single way!!!) so I went out with my daughter and picked up Black Flag resynced this morning. Cannot wait to get on that later
Been having fun with Risk of Rain 2, but the runs take just a bit too much time each.
Screamer. Brilliant racing game.
@Foxhound I’ve been wondering about this one. Big racing/driving genre fan here. What would you compare it too? An NFS arcade racer?
Finished Adventures of Elliot. 10/10 game for me. Back on the FF7 Rebirth platinum grind. Doubt I’ll make it.
I fired up Denshattack!, I absolutely love it. It’s insane, ridiculous, hard, and an absolute blast. If I have time I’ll also play some Plague Tale Requiem.
@GamingGod Need For Speed is probably the closest, yeah. The game is now only £27 at several retailers like Amazon and Currys. It also received several patches since its release to correct the difficulty issues a lot of players complained about.
@MichaelNau what board games? I love a good hobby game.
@GamingGod Astros play room maybe the best freebie ever. Absolutely superb
@rusty82 mate it’s so good. The whole thing just takes me back 30 years literally! And the finale demo 1 is just aaaahhhhhb ❤️
@Foxhound nice one I’m going to grab it for sure. £27 is a bargain!
@GamingGod 2 hour free trial on ps plus at the moment!
@Odium
Scythe so far ^^
@GamingGod it's an amazing final ending and reference.
I remember my brother getting a PS1 in 95 and we were blown away by that Dino demo.
We also played loads of the destruction derby demo on demo 1. Think loaded, wipeout and battle arena toshiden were on it. Seeing that Dino boss brought all those memories back
@IntrepidWombat that's a bummer. My eldest dog bear turns 9 in September and his son bozzer turns 2 next month. I don't know how I'll cope when the inevitable happens. So sorry to hear about your dog mate 👍
Nothing for me. Can’t be arsed with games at the mo.
@Northern_munkey @IntrepidWombat yeah sorry to hear that. My 17 y/o dog passed last year so I feel your pain.
@rusty82 mate it blew me away!! Even the ominous music as he appears out of the dark just as he did in 94! That game is tremendous and the labo at the end when all collectibles are in is incredible and interacting with everything is just top notch. Asobi knocked it out the park with playroom and everything they do imo
All about The Dark Ages: Revelations, for the most part. It's SO GOOD.
Also, my Banjo/Rare Super Pocket arrived, so I will be cracking that open. Banjo is pretty special to me.
I recently took a job at a rescue mission down town, and it is with much "higher functioning" (I doubt that term is acceptable in the field anymore, but y'all know what I'm sayin) adults, so I hopefully won't eat as many punches or clean up as many bodily fluids here. It has been hard to let go of certain responsibilities, but I will get over it. More importantly, all the down time means I get to READ. I usually read non-fiction, but I am instead trying to keep up with what my wife is reading so we have a new thing to share. It's been great so far.
Now I am at a seven year old's b-day. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
@GamingGod according to my PS5 over 150 hours have been put into Astros playroom. Most of that was my 8 year old on n off over last 4 years or so.
I'm hoping we might hear soon about an astro bot 2. 🤞
Sony would be very idiotic not to have green lit a sequel already
Jaws Retro Edition (Switch) Will be wrapping this up this weekend. I really enjoyed this game alot especially the enahnced version.
Forza Horizon 6 (Series X) Seasonal objectives
Zelda II The Adventure of Link (Switch) I got the itch to play this one so I figure I do a playthrough this weekend.
@rusty82 lol that’s awesome mate!! my daughter used to like it on my old account. I actually 100% the trophies on my new account in 5 hours 😂. Best 5 hours I’ve spent gaming recently for sure! I forgot how perfect it is. I’ve actually picked up Astro Bot recently and once I’m done with Black Flag trophies I’m on it for sure for my 80th platinum 🔥🔥🔥 Asobi rule and I hope we get many more Astro Bot games
@MichaelNau nice! For as many games as I have and I’ve played I’ve never played Scythe.
Spec Ops: The Line - PS3
Metal Gear Rising: Revengance - PS3
I was playing RE Village for a minute made it out of the castle my only complaint so far was the fight with Lady Dimitrescu and her daughter's was really disappointing I thought Dimitrescu played a bigger role in this game because they advertised her like crazy before the game came out and after. I went back to playing Horizon Zero Dawn remaster my backlog is crazy
@Odium
It's a very well made euro game.
Meaning, you have multiple different actions but can only do one per turn.
Every tun counts, as in, if you madde the wrong decision once, the price is very hard as course correcting is pretty costly in time and it's not a cooperative game at all.
TLDR: Very well made but merciless.
Also, bonus point, it's one of those games that seems to have been tested in every possible way before release, so you don't spend your time interpreting the rules.
AC Odyssey. You don't need a ps5 to enjoy games, I have 2 but the PS4 is winning with games of late. That and Crimson Desert on PC. I think my steam account has more longevity than PlayStation.
No time to play on ps5 probably, so will try some games from my steam library on steamdeck.
And of course, will be watching World Cup final tonight - Messi is the best, but hope Spain wins it all.
Happy gaming, everyone!
@MichaelNau I’ve heard nothing but great things about it. I was always curious but never played it because I didn’t like euro games, until one day while playing Gloomhaven when I realized it was a euro game in disguise as an Ameritrash game. I’ll have to give it a try.
Please do.
And if you enjoy coop assymetrical games, you might like Spirit Island, which I'm praising any time Ian since it might be my favorite game ^^
Outer Worlds 2. Light hearted fun. Way better than the first one, but we'll see if I make it all the way to the end.
