Sonic X Shadow Generations (PS5)
$24.99/£22.49 (-50%)
Sonic X Shadow Generations really is a game of two halves. The remaster of the fan favourite original game is here and intact, albeit perhaps showing its age in some ways. Meanwhile, the all-new Shadow Generations campaign is possibly the best that 3D Sonic has ever been. It builds on the solid foundation laid by Sonic Frontiers and refines the gameplay in bombastic levels that largely sidestep most of the issues the modern games have been suffering from for years. If you love Sonic Generations, great, but for our money, Shadow's side of this game is where the real value lies.

South Park: The Stick of Truth (PS4)
$5.99/£4.99 (-80%)
With all the humour of a typical South Park TV episode, this short but oh-so-sweet turn-based RPG is well worth playing. Explore South Park, completing quests and meeting characters from the show. With a sequel also available, this roughly 10-hour adventure is a fantastic palette cleanser.
Spyro: Reignited Trilogy (PS4)
$13.99/£12.24 (-65%)
Before Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, and Spider-Man, it was Spyro that gave Insomniac Games its big break on PS1. That first trio of action platformers was wonderful back in the late 90s, but they're even better in Spyro: Reignited Trilogy, a vibrant PS4 remake. It features all three classics with a gorgeous, cartoonish visual makeover and modernised controls. The result is a nostalgic package that equally pleases old fans and new ones alike.
Synapse (PS5)
$17.49/£14.99 (-50%)
Synapse is a great roguelike first-person shooter and an early win for PSVR2. Giving you access to telekinetic powers as well as an arsenal of firearms, this is a trippy power fantasy with distinctive visuals and satisfying action. It also makes full use of PSVR2's features, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback in the controllers and headset.
Tales of Graces f Remastered (PS5)
$19.99/£17.49 (-50%)
Tales of Graces f Remastered is a fantastic action-RPG where an array of quality-of-life improvements make this a fun adventure for both new and returning players. Push through the sluggish opening hours and you’ll find an entertaining tale with characters who are full of charm.
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition (PS4)
$9.99/£6.99 (-80%)
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition brings one of, if not the best Tales game to PS4, and that alone will no doubt be enough to persuade fans of the series. But really, ten years after its original release, Vesperia deserves more credit than that. It's a borderline classic Japanese RPG, and one that still holds up thanks to a great cast of characters and some finely poised action.
The Alters (PS5)
$24.49/£20.29 (-30%)
The Alters is a fascinating sci-fi survival adventure that does things in its own unique way. You play as a lone cosmonaut whose only hope is to create alternate versions of himself, each one of them specialising in different elements, like medicine, or engineering. It results in a brilliant mix of crafting, base building, and intriguing narrative as you roam a desolate, hostile planet trying to stay alive. There's really nothing quite like it.
Tomba! Special Edition (PS5)
$7.99/£6.39 (-60%)
Tomba! is still a weird and mostly wonderful little platformer, packed with character and charm from beginning to end. Some of its more convoluted design elements can frustrate, and the backtracking's a bit of a slog at times, but the core, grab-happy gameplay remains satisfyingly fun. And, with the addition of unlimited saves and a rewind function, it's hard not to appreciate and enjoy this revived PS1 oddity.
Two Point Museum (PS5)
$23.99/£19.99 (-20%)
Two Point Museum takes the series to an original setting that allows for a much more varied and fun management sim. On top of usual duties like hiring staff, setting prices, and meeting objectives, you'll send out expeditions to secure new artefacts for your museum. This curation aspect adds an extra layer of customisation and interest, making for what is probably the most appealing game in the series so far.
Under the Waves (PS5)
$7.49/£6.24 (-75%)
Under the Waves is set almost entirely underwater, and while it's not a horror game, it is deeply unsettling at times. The ocean makes an excellent setting thanks to its inherent vastness, and how wildly alien it is for us land-dwellers. There's an incredible atmosphere to this game, a sort of constant sense of impending doom coupled with occasional, odd moments of beauty.
Unpacking (PS5)
$7.99/£6.39 (-60%)
Unpacking proves that even the simplest of concepts can have impact. The act of moving a young woman into her various living spaces by unboxing all her possessions is a surprisingly effective storytelling device, and what's more, it's incredibly relaxing to do. Gorgeous pixel art and chill music enhance the vibe as you follow the main character through her life. While it doesn't last very long, it's a memorable game that does a lot with a little.
Vendetta Forever (PS5)
$10.99/£8.79 (-45%)
If you played SUPERHOT and are looking for more, Vendetta Forever is your best bet. This PSVR2 puzzle shooter has you killing targets in stylish ways, and the only way you can move is by teleporting to the weapon your downed enemies were holding. Strategic, responsive, and satisfying, this is a brilliant virtual reality title that really makes the most of the tech, and makes you feel like a badass to boot.
Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars (PS4)
$11.99/£9.99 (-60%)
Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars is a unique spin on the traditional RPG formula. Everything in the game is represented by cards — characters, weapons, combat abilities, and even the world map — and the result is very effective. It offers up a straightforward turn-based RPG with great presentation and some fun twists and turns. The combat may lose some steam later on, but there's a lot to enjoy here.
WipEout Omega Collection (PS4)
$9.99/£11.99 (-50%/-60%)
The granddaddy of anti-gravity racing makes a triumphant return to PlayStation with a gorgeous remaster that brings together content from WipEout HD, Fury, and 2048. The fast and fluid racer plays beautifully, looks gorgeous, and runs like a shiny, metal dream. The recently added VR support is incredibly well implemented too, making this an even better package for PSVR owners. While we’d have preferred an all new entry in the franchise, this serves as a great reminder of why WipEout is so beloved by fans.
Yooka-Replaylee (PS5)
$26.99/£22.04 (-10%)
Yooka-Replaylee is a brilliant remake of the original game. It expands and improves upon so many areas that it leaves the original release in the dust. It took a long wait, but Yooka and Laylee finally have a 3D platformer worthy of the Banjo-Kazooie comparisons.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War (PS4)
$4.99/£3.99 (-90%)
Zombie Army 4: Dead War is one of the best co-operative focused games on PS4. Its meaty campaign boasts of impressive level variety, a superb control scheme, and enjoyable gameplay mechanics while a Horde mode tests your abilities to the max. Rebellion has crafted an experience with so much to see and do that it could take a group of players weeks to master everything on offer — a crowning success for this type of game. Zombie Army 4: Dead War is an absolute riot of a title that is just as cheeky as it is fun to play.

Haha excellent, I waited for that Dark Ages discount. Physical (without game on disc), was 43 eur in the black friday week xD
I was almost getting Doom The Dark Ages but then i saw the performance and i instantly gave up. The game has some really annoying framerate drops (lower 50s and sometimes high 40s) in very open areas on base PS5 and i can't believe that even Pro can't beat Xbox Series X in performance. I can stomach horrendous performance in games like Space Marine 2 because that game doesn't really demand quick reflexes, but Doom does and id software dropped the ball here
Might as well wait for a PS6 to get this game
Impulse bought Octopath Traveller 1 and 2 bundle for £35.99. Lowest price it’s been and a great price for both games combined. On my way home from work yo haven’t a go.
Doom the dark ages says offer ends 16.12 and it isn't listed under the end of year sale...
@Spooky64 have checked again and it looks like the US site and UK sites have different titles on offer
nothing. same old same old
@windxtravelerx I played it on base PS5 and it ran brilliantly.
If you have plus premium try it on the trial
I couldn't put it down and genuinely never had an issue with it. I was put off my digital foundry review but not sure if it was patched as it ran amazingly when I played it
@rusty82 hmm interesting. Thank you for the heads up. Maybe I'll give this game a try, then, because it does look fun and i already own the other two games.
Under the Waves started off really strong with an amazing atmosphere like stated here, but the narrative completely fell apart at the end. It was so disappointing because it really was enjoyable at first.
I wish they'd release Demon's Souls on PC - would be a blast to have it spruced up with some good mods.
@Quintumply Not listing Super Robot Wars Y in its first heavy discount is an injustice lol. In any case there are some pretty sweet deals during this sale!
If you’ve done this kind of sale roundup before, I’ve missed it. It’s a great help, because try as I might to check all the sales the smaller games get lost in the mix.
Serious question: how many days this year has PlayStation NOT had a sale? Honestly I love a good sale, but at this point is it really a sale if I rarely, if ever, pay full price? I’m getting sale fatigue.
@Leetware1 considering there is always the same games on sale
new additions to the overall sales stuff happen very scarcely
3 things I'd like to see from articles like these;
1 - I've mentioned before that it's quite a lot of scrolling, if this can be condensed while keeping the page no. so you can get your ad revenue that would be great.
2 - The euro prices would be a big help (though maybe there's inconsistencies though-out Europe).
3 - I think raising the minimum score to an 8 would really cut down the amount of games and focus on the bangers.
