Pac-Man World Re-Pac (PS5)
$5.99/£6.99 (-80%)
Pac-Man World Re-Pac is a modern remake of the classic PS1 platformer. Placing Namco's iconic character into a three-dimensional adventure, the game is packed with charm thanks to its simple but satisfying platforming and some inventive bosses. If you're looking for a platformer with old school design and contemporary visuals, this should serve you nicely.

Pentiment (PS5)
$9.99/£7.99 (-50%)
Pentiment is a unique narrative adventure with a stunning art style. Set in 16th century Bavaria, you play as a character who begins an investigation into a murder of which your friend has been accused. Through exploring the setting and chatting with locals, you'll slowly peel back the layers of the mystery as well as interact with the well-observed lives of everyday people. It's a slow-moving but thoughtful and well-executed game.
Pepper Grinder (PS5)
$5.24/£4.54 (-65%)
Pepper Grinder has a super fun core mechanic, and it's fully explored within its refreshingly short runtime. It's an action platformer in which you use a large drill to navigate through certain surfaces, and it feels great to leap around like a power tool dolphin. With simple progression and a bunch of additional mechanics changing the gameplay up just enough, this short but sweet little game never outstays its welcome.
Persona 5 Royal (PS5)
$17.99/£14.99 (-70%)
Persona 5 Royal is the definitive version of an outstanding RPG — and it hits a silky smooth 60fps on PS5. The original Persona 5 was already a masterpiece for many, but this greatly enhanced and significantly expanded re-release is basically Persona perfection. Balancing elements of everyday life simulation with amazing turn based combat and a lot of cool dungeon crawling, it's a truly immaculate title. Brilliantly cohesive, refined, and quite possibly the most stylish game in existence.
Persona 5 Tactica (PS5)
$17.99/£16.49 (-70%)
Atlus has successfully translated the turn-based combat of its 2017 masterpiece into a competent tactical experience, though Persona 5 Tactica won't be heralded with the same praise. Consistently good during fights, customising your party and mastering its many stages is where the game is at its best. However, there's little to the title besides those skirmishes, and without any exploration or sense of character progression, this feels like the Phantom Thieves at the end of their tether. Joker and co have enjoyed a great run, but Persona 5 fatigue is well and truly beginning to set in.
Promise Mascot Agency (PS5)
$17.49/£13.99 (-30%)
Promise Mascot Agency is an open world exploration game with management sim elements that tells a crime drama story in a universe where mascots are sentient beings. It's not your typical elevator pitch, but it all comes together very well indeed. Gradually upgrading the town, recruiting new mascots, and progressing through the engrossing story is all seriously compelling. It's a truly unique game that's spinning a lot of plates, but somehow does it all with style.
Psychonauts 2 (PS4)
$11.99/£9.99 (-80%)
Double Fine's cult favourite PS2 platformer finally got the full-blown sequel it deserved with Psychonauts 2, and it's excellent. You don't hear much chatter about it, but this is a 3D platformer bursting with imagination, variety, and fun. What's more, it delivers that while also weaving a good story, exploring delicate themes without going overboard. Whether you're a fan of the original or are just looking for a colourful, inventive platformer, Psychonauts 2 is one of PS4's best examples.
RAGE 2 (PS4)
$7.99/£6.99 (-80%)
RAGE 2's on-foot action is some of the most fun we've had this generation. As a shooter it's undeniably top tier, but the combat constantly has to fight for its rightful place in the spotlight. All the bright pink paint in the apocalypse couldn't stop the game's open world from feeling lacklustre, and the vehicular stuff struggles throughout. RAGE 2 needed the chaos and insanity that its marketing campaign was so eager to push, because we've ended up with a disappointingly safe objective-based grind, in which the excellent combat is the only thing strong enough to string you along.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PS5)
$29.39/£34.99 (-58%/-50%)
Up until Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart released, Insomniac Games’ dynamic duo had been wilting in the wilderness a little bit. The PS4 reboot, Ratchet & Clank, was well-received – but it felt lightweight compared to classic series entries, like Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time. Fortunately, while Rift Apart doesn’t necessarily reinvent the wheel, it does deliver the series’ first full-scale adventure in well over a generation. This is a game that feels great to play, thanks in part to stunning DualSense integration and some of the glitziest special effects this side of the galaxy. It’s a little more throwaway than many of the PS5’s other exclusives, but its thoroughly entertaining while it lasts, and the introduction of new characters like Rivet mean there’s a lot of life left in this series yet.
RoadCraft (PS5)
$29.99/£26.24 (-25%)
RoadCraft takes the intricate off-road fun of MudRunner and SnowRunner, and melds it with involving micro-management and building aspects, resulting in a fantastic experience that's the dev's best vehicle sim to date. With eight big maps full of ruined environs and treacherous conditions to contend with, a huge array of complex vehicles to master, and co-op play to maximise the fun of it all, this is a big old blast of a thing, a huge sandbox that's got excitement, depth, and challenge in spades.
Rollerdrome (PS5)
$7.49/£6.24 (-75%)
Bullets and death meet Tony Hawk's Pro Skater in Rollerdrome, one of the best-feeling PS5 games to date. All you need do is take down bad guys in skate parks of the future, but Roll7's latest is all about doing it in style. Chain tricks and grinds in-between shotgun shells to rack up a high score and win the tournament; along the way, you'll feel on top of the world. Rollerdrome is an addictive shooter all about speed and flow, and you'll quickly find yourself replaying stages just for another dose of its ecstasy.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure (PS5)
$25.19/£19.79 (-58%/-67%)
With creator Media Molecule focusing its attention elsewhere, LittleBigPlanet’s whimsical weaved hero deserved his Super Mario 3D World moment. Sackboy: A Big Adventure doesn’t pull up any trees like its predecessors, but is instead a robust co-operative platformer with some memorable musical moments. With a cutesy DIY aesthetic and some surprisingly tight action, it excels in an area that Sony has often been accused of overlooking: fun for the whole family.
Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened (PS5)
$3.99/£3.29 (-90%)
For a game that was never meant to exist, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened is a revelation. It has everything a Holmes fan could want; mysteries to unravel, fun dialogue and banter between Holmes and Watson, and plenty of investigations to be had. Playing through with barely any instruction or assistance from the game itself really gives a sense of achievement not often found with other detective games. A compelling and mythical storyline is really the cherry on top of a fantastic, thought-provoking game which will have players exploring every nook and cranny to get to the bottom of the mystery at hand.
Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate (PS5)
$8.11/£6.49 (-35%)
Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate is a novel roguelike spin on chess that, despite equipping you with a firearm, is deceptively strategic. You'll need to use cunning moves and tactical shotgun blasts to progress through a run, unlocking upgrades as you go, and it's great, quick-fire fun. With a handful of modes and different shotguns providing a little variety, this is an enjoyable, modern riff on one of the world's oldest and best-loved board games.
Slitterhead (PS5)
$24.99/£23.99 (-50%)
Frustrating at times but fearlessly inventive, Slitterhead is an absolute must-play if you’re looking for an original take on the survival horror genre. Serving as a spiritual successor to fan favourites like Siren, Gravity Rush, and Soul Sacrifice, this haunting tale about a body-hopping spirit – who uses humans as fodder to put a stop to the eponymous enemy – is a scintillating albeit occasionally undercooked debut from Bokeh Game Studios. Repetition and an overall lack of refinement do bring it down, but you’ll be hard-pushed to find a more imaginative experience this year.
Sonic Frontiers (PS5)
$17.99/£14.99 (-70%)
With Sonic Frontiers, SEGA decided to play with the traditional formula of the hedgehog's 3D outings, and the result is one of his strongest adventures in a long time. While certainly not without its flaws, this open world spin on the speedy character is refreshing, giving him ample room to run and plenty of opportunities to engage in bite-size platforming challenges. Most importantly, Sonic feels nimble and fun to control — most of the time, anyway. There's definitely some rough edges here, but it's ultimately an enjoyable game that fans of the franchise will adore.

Haha excellent, I waited for that Dark Ages discount. Physical (without game on disc), was 43 eur in the black friday week xD
I was almost getting Doom The Dark Ages but then i saw the performance and i instantly gave up. The game has some really annoying framerate drops (lower 50s and sometimes high 40s) in very open areas on base PS5 and i can't believe that even Pro can't beat Xbox Series X in performance. I can stomach horrendous performance in games like Space Marine 2 because that game doesn't really demand quick reflexes, but Doom does and id software dropped the ball here
Might as well wait for a PS6 to get this game
Impulse bought Octopath Traveller 1 and 2 bundle for £35.99. Lowest price it’s been and a great price for both games combined. On my way home from work yo haven’t a go.
Doom the dark ages says offer ends 16.12 and it isn't listed under the end of year sale...
@Spooky64 have checked again and it looks like the US site and UK sites have different titles on offer
nothing. same old same old
@windxtravelerx I played it on base PS5 and it ran brilliantly.
If you have plus premium try it on the trial
I couldn't put it down and genuinely never had an issue with it. I was put off my digital foundry review but not sure if it was patched as it ran amazingly when I played it
@rusty82 hmm interesting. Thank you for the heads up. Maybe I'll give this game a try, then, because it does look fun and i already own the other two games.
Under the Waves started off really strong with an amazing atmosphere like stated here, but the narrative completely fell apart at the end. It was so disappointing because it really was enjoyable at first.
I wish they'd release Demon's Souls on PC - would be a blast to have it spruced up with some good mods.
@Quintumply Not listing Super Robot Wars Y in its first heavy discount is an injustice lol. In any case there are some pretty sweet deals during this sale!
If you’ve done this kind of sale roundup before, I’ve missed it. It’s a great help, because try as I might to check all the sales the smaller games get lost in the mix.
Serious question: how many days this year has PlayStation NOT had a sale? Honestly I love a good sale, but at this point is it really a sale if I rarely, if ever, pay full price? I’m getting sale fatigue.
@Leetware1 considering there is always the same games on sale
new additions to the overall sales stuff happen very scarcely
3 things I'd like to see from articles like these;
1 - I've mentioned before that it's quite a lot of scrolling, if this can be condensed while keeping the page no. so you can get your ad revenue that would be great.
2 - The euro prices would be a big help (though maybe there's inconsistencies though-out Europe).
3 - I think raising the minimum score to an 8 would really cut down the amount of games and focus on the bangers.
