The next free content update for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is almost here, and it brings another playable character into the fold.
Namely, Goro Majima, in his Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii guise, joins the fun when the update arrives tomorrow, 29th April 2026.
The Mad Dog of Shimano joins Ichiban in the kart racer, representing SEGA's crime drama action series.
As this is his Pirate Yakuza apperance, his vehicle is built to match, and it might be the game's silliest yet — a pirate ship (the Goromaru) on wheels. The DLC also adds "special emotes and sounds".
All this is free for owners of the game; you simply need to update it when the patch launches tomorrow.
The last character to be added was Red from Angry Birds, and there's still one more freebie character to come — Arle from Puyo Puyo.

Say what you will about CrossWorlds, but no other game lets you pit Majima against SpongeBob, Steve Minecraft and John Angrybird.
Just completed Pirate Yakuza last night and whilst I found the majority of the game to be pretty average mainly from recycling a lot from “Infinite Wealth” the final scenes hit me so hard In the feels that I just can’t let go of this series regardless of if it gets worse.
Gotta love his vehicle! Hope I manage to detach myself a bit from Saros and play the festival 😅
@Gaia093 and yet none of them have voices. they’re just glorified skin mods
Meh. I would rather they just re-released Transformed w/o Danicka Patrick.
I can see ShogunRok getting happy vibes from this add on
Should have been Vyse instead.
@Yousef- Can't imagine the target audience for a Sonic kart racer wanted two Yakuza characters in it.
@Yousef- I don't really know who she is. Like a UFC lady or something. I just didn't enjoy irl people in my Sonic racing game.
@Yousef- To be clear i'm ok with this as Yakuza is a big Sega franchise now its just i find it amusing we have 2 characters from Yakuza in a Sonic game where a good size of its playerbase will be kids who chances are don't know what Yakuza is.
@Yousef- I have a feeling "those circles" typically do about as well with ladies in their sports as these circles do with ladies in their games.
