Almost four long years after its original announcement, Red Thread Games has confirmed Dustborn will launch for PS5, PS4 on 20th August 2024. A new trailer debuted during today's Future Games Show announcing the release date, which you can catch above. The game will cost $29.99 on the PS Store, with a physical edition available at a higher price.

A game all about a road trip from Pacifica to Nova Scotia, you're on the run with a group of bandmates. You will "recruit crew members, build relationships, fulfil unexpected assignments, and fight" those chasing after you. Creative director Ragnar Tørnquist explains that Dustborn allowed the studio to take its experiences making Draugen and The Dreamfall Chapters into the action-adventure genre. "It is, first and foremost, a character-driven game about people and the power of words," he said. "Dustborn is all about understanding your crew, their relationships, and how your words shape the world around you."

If you want a physical version of the game, you'll need to pay $39.99, but you'll get two postcards, a map of the route the crew takes through the American Republic, a prequel comic book, and an assortment of stickers alongside the disc. The new release date for Dustborn means August 2024 is starting to take a bit of shape, with Black Myth: Wukong also set to release on 20th August 2024.
