Genshin Impact’s unmatchable update cadence continues with v4.3 on 20th December, significantly slowing the speed of your Fontaine adventure now that the main Archon questline has concluded. Instead, you’ll be invited to the Fontinalia Festival, where you’ll partake in a unique movie making experience.

The press release reads: “Under the leadership of Furina, an unexpected team composed of the Kamisato siblings, the Traveler, and the renowned fashion designer of the Chioriya Boutique, Chiori, will come together to work on a film. In addition, the Fontinalia Festival will also offer a series of mini-games, such as designing a short film with different camera angles and narrations, as well as shooting training in a marksmanship-themed gameplay mode.”

There’ll be two new characters to unlock, including the 5-star Geo claymore user Navia, who wields a deadly gunbrella. “The number of shots [in her gunbrella] is determined by ‘Crystal Shrapnel’, which is accumulated either by obtaining Elemental Shards from Crystallize reactions or her Elemental Burst. Navia’s Elemental Burst also deals solid AOE Geo damage by bombarding her enemies.”

The press release continues: “Another firearms professional, Chevreuse, will join the team as a new 4-star Pyro polearm wielder. As captain of the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol, Chevreuse can fire bullets with her musket that deal AoE Pyro damage and look out for the team by healing the active character with her Elemental Skill.”

Navia will debut alongside Kamisato Ayaka’s rerun in the first half of the update, while Chevreuse will feature with Raiden Shogun and Yoimiya’s reruns.

Elsewhere in the update, in-game collectible card game Genius Invokation TCG will receive a major update adding new cards, opponents, and more, while “Itto’s Beetle Battle event and Liben’s daily requests will return with various exciting features and abundant rewards”. There’ll also be a new Fontaine layout added to the Serintea Pot.

HoYoverse is also incorporating a ton of quality of life improvements to this update, including the ability to deal with Expeditions in just a couple of clicks. In addition, you’ll be able to batch lock and unlock Artifacts, upgrade weapons quicker, and even examine recommended Artifact Sets for your favourite characters. All extremely welcome improvements, in our opinion.
