Mortal Kombat 1 made a splashy entrance in the UK's boxed games chart last week, debuting at number one. However, its combo has been broken early by EA Sports FC 24 which, predictably, arrives right at the top. Just over half of the physical copies sold in UK stores over the launch weekend were for PS5. NetherRealm's fighter is still holding its own, though, settling for second.
The remainder of the top 10 is pretty much business as usual. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor returns at number eight, and The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Complete Edition sees CD Projekt's RPG come back, too, at number 10. Aside from that, Hogwarts Legacy is still flying high in third, Grand Theft Auto 5 continues to perform in fifth, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is up into ninth. Obviously we're heading into October now, so we expect to see some shifts as some heavy-hitters release.

There was a lot digital sales for FC24 as bundles on PlayStation and Xbox, and when working it out the game was free and the console cheaper as a bundle offer with console plus FC24 digital game.
Crazy how they push this game with deal console bundles which as good as gives the game away.
I'm interested to see where AC Mirage will end up next week. I suppose beating FC 24 will be out of the question, so a 2nd place result should be good enough.
Glad I'm sober from FIFA for the past 6 years, well yea got FIFA20 at the time, didn't play it that long like the others. I remember missing a whole lot of games back in the day because of buying FIFA yearly, not anymore.
Renting EA fc...my first FIFA in a long time.... community is horrible ..everyone clearly has just thrown money at the game...elite teams already....the majority just use the best players and exploit them
Quite satisfying then that I have won about half my matches with my shocking team against some of these players who clearly just throw money at the game to paper over Thier lack of any real ability at the game....still really off putting for anyone who is late to the game trying to get into FIFA(FC 24)
Any idea how it sold comparatively to FIFA23?

That's why Rockstar has little incentive to push out GTA 6. Their 10 year old game is consistently in the Top 10 and makes them billions each year.
Sorry, gaming. I have to say I did buy this and am addicted to scoring lots of goals in pro clubs. But I'm only contributing to the digital version and £45 at that.

Actually the opposite of moaning. I understand why they are in no rush to release GTA 6.
From a financial point of view, it makes perfect sense for them.
Is there some sort of extra that comes with buying GTA V over and over again? I just can't believe there are enough new buyers/players to keep this game in the Top 10 each month. Like do you get more GTA Online cash or something if you buy the main game on some dummy account which you then trade to your main GTA account?
How is this game still selling?? Why would they even bother with GTA 6? I have no love for the games so I can say with ice in my veins that surely GTA Online 2 or something makes more sense lol
