EA Sports FC 24 will represent a new start for the long-running FIFA franchise, but fan favourite modes will return. Confirmed during an announcement livestream earlier this week, Ultimate Team will see the addition of women’s football players for the first time, creating new team building opportunities where you could feasibly pair John Stones with Leah Williamson in the heart of your defence – or put Alessia Russo upfront with Harry Kane.

But buried on the game’s website is confirmation of another oft-requested feature: same-generation crossplay in Pro Clubs – or simply Clubs, as it’s being rebranded this year. This means that if you’re playing on PS5, you’ll be able to compete alongside and against those on Xbox Series X|S and PC. And don’t worry if you’re still on PS4, as you won’t be left behind either: there’ll be full crossplay across Sony’s last-gen console and Xbox One.

Crossplay will be available in arcade mode Volta as well, and it’ll also be rolled out to Ultimate Team co-op. This is all in addition to the modes crossplay was already available for in FIFA 23: Online Friendlies, Online Seasons, and all other Ultimate Team options. It feels like a natural progression for the series after EA Sports dipped its collective toe into the water last year, but seeing as Pro Clubs players have been pleading for crossplay for quite some time, it’s good to finally have confirmation of the feature across the board.
