We’re getting a lot of retro compilations on PS5 and PS4 right now, but Bill & Ted’s Excellent Retro Collection may be one of the weirder ones. Featuring LJN’s critically maligned Bill & Ted's Excellent Video Game Adventure – originally released in 1991 on the NES – and its Game Boy counterpart, the home console version was eviscerated in reviews when it was new.
“It’s a bodacious, mind-boggling role-playing adventure,” the press release facetiously explains. “And your only chance to save the world and earn the respect you deserve. No way – yes way! A most excellent role-playing adventure!” Hm.
The package will set you back £8.99/$9.99, so it’s not exactly going to break the bank. While the games are of questionable quality, we can’t deny it’s cool seeing these 8-bit titles made more readily available for a modern audience.

Ljn… I remember they made some Marvel games back in the day. The Spider Man crossover X-Men game was awful.

Why would anyone buy a ps5 and then buy this? Even if your bank balance reads like a telephone number
While there will be as many arguments for rereleasing this as there are against releasing it, it seems that the developers behind it are still contactable to a point where the rights, royalties and the transfer of content can be easily facilitated. It also seems that there may have been a fairy easy way to port it over to a modern system.

All I'm seeing is PS4 version, which means to play on PS5 would be thru backwards compatibility.

The store page for this is very umm... No screenshots, no mention that they are nes and Gameboy games.
I suppose anyone who's got any interest in bill and ted nowadays would be aware anyway, they don't seem to have caught younger generations imagination as far as I know, but still seems misleading.
