Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, from the makers of successful indie Souls-like Ashen, is looking good in this latest video. Showing off about five minutes of gameplay, you get a good taste of combat, which combines an axe, a gun, and the magical abilities of your furry friend.

It looks like you'll deal most of your damage with the blade, complementing it with the blunderbuss. While that happens, your companion Enki will distract and do damage with its own teleporting attacks. It's not clear if those are player-commanded or not. Outside of combat, you'll use Enki to traverse the landscape too.

Overall, it looks like a more kinetic take on the Souls-like, with flashy attacks, magical leaps, and huge ground pounds making it a little less grounded. That's fine with us — what do you think of Flintlock so far? Take a swing in the comments section below.
