Let’s hope these Madden NFL 21 screenshots are truly representative of the PlayStation 5 version of the game, because it looks ridiculous. Our favourite detail so far – aside from the rain lashing down on new Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady – is the way EA Sports is using raytracing to reflect entire stadiums on the helmets of its stars.

Look at the image of Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams, for example – you can see the entirety of Lambeau Field reflected on his helmet. Remember, you’ll only need to pay once to play Madden NFL 21 on both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 – and the title will use Sony’s new DualSense controller for added immersion in-game.
