Ghost of Tsushima got a very brief teaser right at the end of the latest State of Play broadcast, leaving us rather desperate to see more. Although we'd have taken a full trailer right there and then, we're prepared to hold out for The Game Awards 2019, where the PlayStation 4 exclusive will take centre stage once again.
It doesn't sound like this is going to be a quick and dirty look at the upcoming action title, either. Event organiser, host, and master of hype Geoff Keighley noted on Twitter: "[Ghost of Tsushima] is our longest trailer in the show on Thursday!"
Hopefully said trailer will give us our best look yet at Sucker Punch's project. Could a release date also be thrown into the bargain? Maybe, but we're not quite sold on that line of thought just yet.

Super hyped for this game!
That's big for Sony.
Longest trailer at the awards you say?
There best be a release date, or at least a release window, at the end of it.
What will the ratio of game play and cut scene be?
We already know it looks beautiful, but will it be fun?
@Rick_Deckard this game look way better then that dark souls clone.
I'm going to need to see a good chunk of gameplay before I consider this anything other than a very pretty hack-n-slash. The first gameplay did nothing to reassure me.
@Paranoimia The gameplay was not hack n slash at all. It was strategic, but that was just one trailer without going into depth. It was just to shoemw the game, not a dev walkthrough.
The trailer should have been atbthis weak @$$ SoP. You suck so hard right now Sony. Really wish Xbox was worth a damn right now.
Sounds like it'll probably be the centerpiece of the show. Really looking forward to seeing it at TGA.
@GodGamer Yeah, it was... or at least that's how it looked to me. Various button presses to attack... another button at the right time to block. Didn't look at all strategic, just timing the right button presses - almost a QTE without the on-screen icons. As I say, that's the impression I got from what I saw, but we didn't see much.
Hey, I sincerely hope I'm wrong... the game looks stunning, and I was very interested in it until I saw the (admittedly limited) gameplay demo. Hopefully what we see next with prove me utterly wrong. But if my fears are realised, I'll give it a wide berth.
I bet its coming in September
Any hints or leaks for a 2019 vs 2020 release date?
@Jay767 agree, as long as there's a non masochist mode. Unlike Sekiro
Launching on fall 2020 with ps5 version/patch available I guess
@wiiware this game is coming out before the ps5.
Sony has the "longest"
@Shepard93n7 Giggity.
@Jay767 Not really. We have barely seen GoT. Plus, Sekiro was brilliant. And calling it a “clone” is just silly.
I'd bet it's going to say Holiday 2020.
I could see the DS5 controller well put to use for combats.
I think SP were great to experiment ISS with DS4 when ps4 launched.
Considering it’s heavily rumoured that when TLOU 2 got pushed back it took GoT’s release spot, I see no reason why they couldn’t commit to a release date that’s later than that. I can see this having an early September release like Spider-man had. I think we will get a date on Thursday.
@Jay767 After tlou2 (29 may 2020) but before ps5? That's a possibility considering ps5 maybe launching on september - november 2020.
